Upon arrival in Madrid, you will be met and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure to relax or explore Madrid at your own pace.
Please Note: This is a bi-lingual, large group coach tour, where a majority of travellers are Spanish, so English will be the second language. For groups of 12 or more the tour is escorted by a bilingual (Spanish & English speaking) tour leader/escort. They will provide explanations about the itinerary, coordinate accommodation services, and ensure the smooth running of the tour, making your trip an enjoyable experience. When the group size is less than 12, this service may be provided by the driver. There will be experienced bi-lingual local guides for included city sightseeing.

This morning, after breakfast, we’ll embark on a captivating panoramic city tour through Madrid, tracing the city’s rich history from its medieval roots. Our journey begins with a glimpse of the Arab fortress and a stroll through the charming Barrio de la Morería, a district steeped in history, where ancient buildings and traditional taverns evoke a sense of timelessness.
We’ll then explore the Hapsburg district, with its Renaissance and Baroque treasures, including the iconic Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and Plaza de la Villa, all shaped by the reign of Philip II. Continuing our exploration, we’ll encounter the grandeur of Madrid under the Bourbons, marveling at the Royal Palace, the impressive Cibeles and Neptune Fountains, and the elegant Puerta de Alcalá, masterpieces of urban design crafted by Charles III.
We’ll pause to admire 19th-century landmarks such as the refined Plaza de Oriente and the world-renowned Prado Museum, before venturing into the heart of modern Madrid. Here, we’ll discover bustling avenues like Gran Vía, Paseo de la Castellana, and the Salamanca district, alongside the commercial and financial hubs of the city, not forgetting the legendary Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. The afternoon is yours to explore Madrid at your own pace.
Please note: The tour escort service is not available during your stay in Madrid, but local guides will lead the guided city tours. As well as if the panoramic tour of Madrid cannot operate, it will be replaced with the Madrid Hop-on Hop-off Bus or a walking tour of the Hapsburg Quarter

As we arrive, you’ll have time to explore at your own pace—perhaps visit the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Pilar, the revered patroness of Hispanity, or wander through the atmospheric old streets steeped in tradition. In the afternoon, we journey onward to San Sebastian, a captivating coastal gem celebrated for its elegance and as the host of the prestigious International Film Festival.

After breakfast, we begin our panoramic tour of this elegant city, where the landscape is dominated by the stunning Bay and the renowned La Concha Beach. We then ascend Mount Igueldo, where we are rewarded with spectacular views of the city and the sparkling sea. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your leisure, whether you choose to wander through the charming streets or relax by the beach.
In the afternoon, we offer the option to visit the picturesque French villages of Biarritz and San Juan de Luz, where you can soak in their coastal beauty and charming atmosphere.

We depart towards Bilbao, where you’ll have time to admire the stunning modern architecture of the Guggenheim Museum from its esplanade, a true masterpiece of design. After soaking in the sights, we continue our journey to Castro Urdiales, a charming fishing village, where we have time to explore the picturesque streets and enjoy the serene atmosphere.
We then head to Santander, a coastal gem nestled between the sea and the mountains, renowned for its beautiful beaches, including the famous El Sardinero. Here, a local guide will join us for a thorough exploration of this stunning port city, uncovering its rich history and captivating landmarks.

Santander - Oviedo. After breakfast, we depart for Santillana del Mar, a town brimming with historical and artistic significance. We then continue our journey to Covadonga, where you’ll have time to visit the Sanctuary and the grotto, home to the revered image of the Virgin, our Lady of Covadonga.
In the afternoon, we head to Oviedo, beautifully set on a series of hills at the foot of the Naranco. The city is known for its charming pedestrian streets and the striking beauty of its monuments, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Among them, the Cathedral stands out as one of the finest examples of Asturian Gothic architecture.
Day 7 - Mondonedo, Lugo & Santiago de Compostela

Oviedo - Mondonedo - Lugo - Santiago de Compostela. Today, we journey towards the picturesque Galician region, making our first stop in Mondoñedo, where we can marvel at its magnificent 12th-century cathedral, a striking example of Romanesque architecture. You’ll also have the opportunity to taste the famous “Mondoñedo cake,” a local delicacy.
We then continue to Lugo, where we explore its well-preserved Roman walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers a glimpse into the city’s ancient past.
Our day concludes in Santiago de Compostela, a city steeped in history and one of Spain’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Its ancient city centre, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a testament to centuries of religious and cultural significance, with roots dating back to the Roman Empire.

We’ll have time to wander and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of the island before continuing our journey, passing through the serene Arosa estuary as we make our way towards Portugal.

We then continue our journey to Salamanca, a monumental university city renowned for its rich history and architectural beauty. Salamanca - Avila - Madrid. Today, we depart for Ávila, where you’ll have free time to discover this historic walled city, famous for its medieval walls and captivating atmosphere. As you explore, you can admire the well-preserved architecture and picturesque streets that make Ávila so unique.
After lunch (not included), we continue our journey to Madrid, with the rest of the day at our leisure to relax or further explore before the end of our tour. .
