Day 1 - Madrid
Upon arriving in Madrid, we will facilitate your transfer to the hotel where you can enjoy some leisure time before the tour commences. Kindly refer to the information signs in the hotel reception area for details concerning the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening, we've arranged transport to Plaza Mayor and the vibrant La Latina, renowned for its lively nightlife and array of tapas bars. You have the freedom to choose your dining preference from an array of international cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern, ensuring a delightful culinary experience. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
On the second day in Madrid, we will start with a comprehensive exploration of the city's vibrant centre. This morning, you'll discover key landmarks such as the Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor, each reflecting the rich history and culture of Spain's capital. Our tour includes a visit to Retiro Park, a serene green oasis in the heart of the city. Here, we will admire the tranquil lake and the elegant Palacio de Cristal, a marvel of glass and iron architecture. Football enthusiasts will be delighted by our stop at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the home ground of the legendary Real Madrid Football Club, often lauded as one of the world's premier teams. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, offering you an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into Madrid's lively atmosphere or perhaps savour some local cuisine. We will reconvene in the evening for a convenient transfer back to our hotel, rounding off a day filled with memorable experiences.
Day 3 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We begin our morning journey, leaving Madrid behind as we traverse the historic region of Castile, making our way to Aragon. Our first destination is Zaragoza, where you will have the opportunity to admire the breathtaking Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, an architectural masterpiece with significant cultural relevance. Following this, we’ll proceed to the tranquil surrounds of Poblet Abbey, renowned as one of the world's best-preserved medieval monastic complexes; your visit here includes entry tickets. Our day concludes as we travel onwards to Barcelona, arriving in the evening, where a vibrant cityscape awaits you.
Day 4 - Barcelona - Girona
In the morning, we will set off on a tour of Barcelona, often referred to as the 'City of Counts'. Famous for its captivating blend of history, culture, and architecture, Barcelona boasts impressive modernist structures by Gaudí, the lively atmosphere of the Ramblas, and a storied past that includes hosting the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. By evening, we will depart from Barcelona, venturing north into the enchanting region of Catalonia. Before settling into our hotel, we'll enjoy a stroll through the historic centre of Girona, where you can admire its vibrant houses, explore the old Jewish quarter, and marvel at the city's majestic cathedral.
Day 5 - Girona - Carrieres des Lumieres - Chambery
We'll set off for France today, travelling through the picturesque Provence region. Our first destination is Arles, a quaint UNESCO World Heritage site known for its association with Van Gogh. Here, you can explore the Roman theatre and delightful Romanesque churches, with time for lunch. Our next stop is Carrières des Lumières, where you’ll experience an extraordinary underground art exhibition. This captivating show of art, imagery, and sound is set within a former quarry, creating a unique experience. By evening, we'll arrive in Chambéry, the charming medieval-style capital of Savoy, complete with a beautifully preserved historic centre and an impressive castle. Please note: if tickets for Carrières des Lumières are unavailable due to demand, we will alternatively visit Pont du Gard, the renowned Roman aqueduct.
Day 6 - Chambery - Geneva - Gruyeres - Leysin
On the sixth day, we embark on a journey into Switzerland, arriving first in Geneva, a city known for its international diplomacy. Here, we visit the Palais des Nations—home to the United Nations in Europe—explore the exquisite English Garden with its famous flower clock, and marvel at the Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. Our next destination is the delightful, fortified village of Gruyères, globally celebrated for its cheese. Nearby, several of Switzerland's prominent chocolate factories, including the Nestlé factory, invite you for a sweet visitation. Our itinerary graciously covers the entrance to the Maison Cailler Chocolate Factory, where you're treated to a delicious tasting adventure. We then continue our scenic drive through idyllic mountain vistas and charming alpine villages, culminating in a visit to Chillon Castle idyllically perched on Lake Geneva’s edge (entry included). By mid-afternoon, we reach Leysin, a quaint resort village offering breathtaking views of the Rhône Valley and Mont Blanc, renowned for its winter sports and hiking trails. Dinner is included in our stay. Please note that due to varying accommodation availability, we might instead stay in a different picturesque Swiss town in the Alps, such as Martigny.
Day 7 - Leysin - Interlaken - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, prepare to be mesmerised by Switzerland's breathtaking mountain vistas as we embark on a day filled with alpine beauty. We'll ascend to Glacier 3000 via a spectacular cable car ride – a highlight of Swiss scenery known for its year-round ice and snow. Here, you can traverse a suspended bridge linking two peaks, delve into the ethereal Ice Cathedral, or enjoy the excitement of the Fun Park. Following this exhilarating experience, we'll pause in Interlaken for a leisurely lunch. Our journey continues to Lucerne, celebrated as one of Switzerland's most picturesque destinations. In the evening, we'll reach Zurich, providing you with some time to explore the heart of this dynamic city before we retreat to our hotel. Please be aware that if inclement weather or other unforeseen events cause the Glacier 3000 cable car to close, an equally stunning alpine alternative will be arranged to ensure an unforgettable experience.
Day 8 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
On the eighth day of our journey, we'll depart from Zurich and head towards the French region of Alsace, where we'll visit its capital, Strasbourg. This charming city is known for its unique blend of French and German influences. You’ll have time to explore Strasbourg and experience its distinct character. Later, we'll continue our journey to Paris, arriving in the city of lights by evening, ready to embrace its vibrant atmosphere.
Day 9 - Paris
On day nine, we delve into the rich history and charm of Paris, starting with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles – renowned for its stunning gardens. Once we've soaked in the grandeur, we'll return to the heart of Paris, where Montmartre awaits. This picturesque bohemian neighbourhood is famous for its artists, painters, and vibrant cabaret scene, offering a delightful glimpse into Parisian culture. Our exploration continues with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide. We'll traverse the city's impressive avenues, taking in iconic landmarks and absorbing the timeless beauty Paris has to offer. The evening is yours to enjoy an optional variety show, should you wish to experience more of the city’s vibrant nightlife, before we return to the hotel.
Day 10 - Paris - Rouen
We begin our day in the heart of Paris, visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this world-famous landmark with tickets included in the itinerary. Following this, we'll indulge in a serene boat cruise along the River Seine, allowing you to experience the city from a unique perspective. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace, embracing its vibrant culture and historic allure.By late afternoon, approximately 4:00 p.m., we'll bid farewell to Paris and make our way to the picturesque region of Normandy, arriving in the historic city of Rouen. In Rouen, you're free to wander its charming medieval streets, steeped in history traced back to Roman times, and admire its remarkable Gothic cathedral. The combination of Rouen's architectural beauty and rich heritage offers a delightful conclusion to our day. Please note, if the wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust the visit to ensure a comfortable experience, potentially rescheduling it for a different time or day, such as Sunday.
Day 11 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
Today, we begin our day with a leisurely stroll through the historic heart of Rouen, a city brimming with medieval charm and fascinating architecture. After soaking in the atmosphere, we will venture northwards through France, making our way to the English Channel. Here, we embark on a ferry crossing, an experience that allows for a unique perspective of the channel's expansive waters. Upon reaching England, we arrive in the historic city of Canterbury, renowned for its beautiful cathedral and quaint streets, which make it a pivotal cultural and religious centre. Our journey continues to London, where you'll have the opportunity to explore the iconic Tower Bridge area at your own pace before we regroup and proceed to our hotel for the evening.
Day 12 - London
Explore the rich tapestry of London's cultural and historical landmarks with our panoramic tour, guided by a knowledgeable local expert. We'll take you to witness some of the city's most iconic sites, including the impressive Parliament buildings, the majestic River Thames, and the renowned Buckingham Palace. Depending on the timing, you might even catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony, a quintessential British spectacle.The evening awaits with an establishment at a central meeting point in the vibrant Piccadilly area, perfect for an immersive stroll. Discover the lively Leicester Square, bustling Chinatown, and the dynamic neighbourhood of Soho, known for its theatres and vibrant nightlife. You'll have ample opportunity to choose from a range of excellent dining options before we return you to your accommodation.
Day 13 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin our day in London with a visit to the British Museum, one of the oldest and most comprehensive museums in the world, where we'll explore artefacts that showcase global cultures. After some free time for lunch, we head to Camden, a district famed for its dynamic and eclectic street market. Here, you can peruse unique items and savour lunch at one of its enticing food stands or small restaurants.At around 4:00 p.m., we'll set off for Colchester, recognised as England’s oldest recorded town. Enjoy a pleasant stroll through its historic streets before we proceed to Harwich to embark on our overnight ferry to the Netherlands. We'll spend the night comfortably in en suite cabins.Please note: Due to limited cabin availability on the ferry, the itinerary may be subject to change. We may travel from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively, take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 14 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
At around eight o'clock in the morning, we will arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland. Our first stop is Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its picturesque scenery. Following this, we will travel to Amsterdam, embarking on a guided city tour that features several iconic sights. We will discover the image of a traditional windmill, enjoy the modern allure of the South District, and experience the timeless artistry of diamond cutting at Museum Square. Our coach tour concludes with a walk into the bustling heart of the city. You’ll have free time afterward to explore at your own pace.
Day 15 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
Leaving Amsterdam, we set out for Germany, heading first to the enchanting town of Hamelin. Famed for its association with the Brothers Grimm's tale of the Pied Piper, Hamelin offers a delightful stroll through its fairy-tale streets lined with charming shops. As we continue our journey, we'll pass through Marienborn, a poignant reminder of Germany's divided past, where East and West were once partitioned by a border until reunification in 1990. Arriving in Berlin by evening, you'll be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of this historic capital city, ready to explore its rich heritage and modern allure.
Day 16 - Berlin
Today, you'll delve into the vibrant heart of Berlin with a guided tour led by a local expert. From the comfort of our coach, you’ll encounter iconic sites such as Museum Island, the towering Television Tower, and the city’s central shopping avenues. The tour also includes views of the remnants of history with the old cathedral, largely damaged during World War II, and architectural marvels like the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. We'll take a moment to reflect at the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, both poignant reminders of Germany's turbulent past in the last century. After the tour, you'll have the afternoon to explore at your own pace. Day 17 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague

You'll have free time to immerse yourself in Dresden's cultural richness and perhaps savour lunch at one of its inviting restaurants or cafes. As the afternoon unfolds, we set off for the Czech Republic, with our ultimate destination being the captivating city of Prague. Here, we'll take you straight to the Old Town Square, infused with a lively atmosphere and spirited activities, offering the perfect introduction to Prague's charm. You'll find an array of dining options here; feel free to choose from a variety of international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian, for the evening meal. Once you've absorbed the vibrant energy of the square, we'll return to our hotel to rest and prepare for further adventures.
Day 18 - Prague
Today, we explore Prague, the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our day begins with an insightful panoramic tour led by a local guide, highlighting the city's most iconic monuments. We'll visit the magnificent Prague Castle, with admission included, offering a glimpse into its historical grandeur. Following the tour, we'll enjoy a leisurely boat ride on the Vltava River, providing a unique perspective of the city's stunning architecture. The afternoon is yours to discover the enchanting streets of Prague at your own pace, allowing you to immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture and history.
