Day 1 - Madrid - Salamanca
We meet at the designated point in Madrid at 8:30 in the morning (please check your documents for exact hotel departure details). From there, we drive to Salamanca, a World Heritage city renowned for its university and remarkable architecture. You will have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. Afterwards, we cross the Portuguese border and continue to Porto, where you will check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 2 - Porto
After breakfast at the hotel, we embark on a panoramic tour of Porto, a city recognised as a World Heritage site. We admire key landmarks including the Cathedral, the Stock Exchange building, and Santa Clara Church. Next, we experience the city from a different angle with a cruise along the Douro River. Following the cruise, we visit a renowned Port Wine cellar where you can enjoy a tasting. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore Porto at your own pace. Overnight in Porto.
Day 3 - Fátima
After a leisurely breakfast, we depart for Coimbra, home to one of Europe’s oldest universities and the birthplace of Fado music. You will have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. We then continue to Fátima, a renowned Christian pilgrimage site and World Sanctuary. Here, we visit the impressive Basilica and the Cova da Iria, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared. The Chapel of the Apparitions, the sanctuary’s focal point, houses the tombs of the three shepherd children who witnessed the miracle: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. In the evening, weather permitting, you may choose to attend the candlelight procession. We stay overnight in Fátima.
Day 4 - Lisboa
After breakfast, we set off for Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its striking Gothic and Manueline architecture. From there, we continue to Nazaré, a charming fishing village where you can enjoy some free time to soak up the authentic local atmosphere. Later, we visit Alcobaça, another World Heritage site, to explore its 12th-century church and the tombs of Pedro and Inês de Castro. Our final drive takes us to Lisbon, where you will check in for the night. There is an optional evening tour to experience a Fado performance, showcasing traditional Portuguese song and music. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 5 - Lisboa
After breakfast, we set off on a morning tour of Lisbon, once known as Olissipo in Roman times. We drive through the city’s main squares and avenues, taking in iconic landmarks such as Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, the Coach Museum, the Monument to the Discoveries, Marquis of Pombal Square and Liberty Avenue. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure—wander the charming, narrow streets of the Alfama Quarter, nestled beside the city castle, where colourful houses and traditional taverns keep the spirit of Fado alive well into the night. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 6 - Merida - Cordoba
After breakfast, we depart for Mérida, the capital of Extremadura, renowned for its exceptional Roman heritage and designated a World Heritage Site. Here, you will have free time to explore impressive ruins such as the theatre, amphitheatre, and Roman bridge. Later, we continue to Córdoba, once the capital of the Caliphate, where you will spend the night.
Day 7 - Cordoba - Seville - Seville
After breakfast at the hotel, explore the historic city of Córdoba, beginning with a visit to the remarkable Mosque–Cathedral, a stunning example of Islamic architecture later converted into a Christian cathedral. Wander through the atmospheric narrow streets of the Jewish Quarter, rich in history and character. In the afternoon, take a short two-hour drive to Seville, where you will check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 8 - Seville - Seville
After breakfast, we set out on a panoramic tour of Seville. You’ll admire the exterior of the city’s cathedral – the second largest Catholic cathedral in the world after St. Peter’s in Rome – before exploring the charming Santa Cruz quarter, known as the setting for the opera Carmen and linked to the legend of Don Juan. We then visit Maria Luisa Park and the impressive Plaza de España. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure, offering the chance to discover unique views or sample the distinctive flavours of this vibrant city. Overnight in Seville.
Day 9 - Seville - Ronda - Benahavis
After breakfast, we travel south, passing through a series of charming traditional villages before arriving in Ronda. Here, you have some free time to explore this town of Celtic origin and take in the stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. In the afternoon, we continue to the Costa del Sol, one of Spain’s most modern and popular tourist regions. Please note that during your stay on the Costa del Sol, tour escort services will not be available. Overnight accommodation is arranged in the Costa del Sol area.
Day 10 - Benahavis
After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure to explore the beautiful beaches of the Costa del Sol and its surrounding areas at your own pace. Should you prefer a more active day, a variety of optional tours are available to suit your interests. Please note that during your stay in the Costa del Sol, tour escort services will not be provided. Overnight in Costa del Sol.
Day 11 - Fes
After breakfast, we travel along the scenic Costa del Sol to Tarifa or Algeciras, where we board a ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar into North Africa. Upon arrival in Tangier, we clear customs and continue by road to Fez, pausing briefly in Meknes. We then check in to our hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Fez.
Day 12 - Fes
After breakfast, we explore Fez, the oldest and most monumental of Morocco’s Imperial Cities. Our tour includes the seven gates of the Royal Palace, the Mellah or Jewish Quarter, the striking Bab Bou Jelous gate, and a walking tour through the UNESCO-listed Medina, the historic old city. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore independently. Dinner is served at the hotel, with an optional evening of dinner and traditional entertainment available.
Day 13 - Marrakech
After breakfast, we travel to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where we visit the exterior of the Royal Palace, the Mohamed V Mausoleum, and the Hassan Tower. We then continue to Casablanca to see key sights including United Nations Square, Boulevard de la Corniche, and the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque. You will have some free time for lunch before we proceed to Marrakech. There is an optional dinner and show available at Chez Ali Fantasia. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 14 - Casablanca
After breakfast, explore Casablanca, often called the ‘Pearl of the South’. Begin with a visit to the expansive Menara Gardens, featuring a pavilion and extensive olive groves. Then admire the exterior of the Koutoubia Minaret, a twin of Seville’s Giralda. Enter the old city to visit the Bahia Palace, once the residence of a local nobleman. Finally, arrive at Jemaa el-Fna square, a vibrant hub providing access to the bustling souks and medina. After the tour, return to Marrakech for lunch at the hotel before departing for Casablanca. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation in Casablanca.
Day 15 - Tarifa - Algeciras - Benahavis
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the pier in Tangier to board a ferry crossing the Strait of Gibraltar back to Spain. Upon arrival, we drive northwards along the same route to return to the Costa del Sol. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and explore at your leisure. Overnight in Costa del Sol.
Day 16 - Benahavis
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy another full day at leisure on the Costa del Sol. You can relax on the beautiful beaches or explore the surrounding area at your own pace. The hotel’s facilities are available for your comfort, and there are optional tours on offer should you wish to discover more of the region. Overnight in Costa del Sol.
Day 17 - Granada
After breakfast, we depart for Granada, the final stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms until 1492. Upon arrival, explore the renowned Generalife Gardens, celebrated for their beauty and tranquillity, which inspired Washington Irving’s famous Tales of the Alhambra. Overnight in Granada.
Day 18 - Granada - Toledo - Madrid
After breakfast, we travel north to the remarkable city of Toledo. Rising dramatically above the Tagus River, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was once home to Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities, reflecting a rich blend of Spanish art, history and spirituality. We join a guided tour to explore its narrow streets and historic landmarks. Afterwards, we continue to Madrid, where the tour concludes. Breakfast is included.
