Southern Spain Adventure Madrid to Seville
Start in Madrid and end in Seville on a six day journey – think grand boulevards, Retiro’s lake and a peek inside the Bernabéu – before rolling through La Mancha to Granada, with the chance to tour the Alhambra and Generalife. Trace the Tropical Coast to Nerja’s cliffs and Málaga’s lively old quarter, then wind into the sierras to dramatic Ronda. Seville wraps it up in style – cathedral and Giralda, Santa Cruz lanes and a leisurely cruise on the Guadalquivir – with optional flamenco for a spirited finale. Expect varied landscapes, Moorish splendour, coastal views and plenty of tapas filled evenings.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid. On arrival at the airport we will transfer you to your hotel, where you can settle in and enjoy some free time before the tour begins. Please check the information signs in the hotel reception for details of the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening we will provide a transfer to Plaza Mayor and La Latina – Madrid’s best known area for nightlife and tapas. You can choose where to dine – options include Spanish, Indian, Chinese and Middle Eastern cuisines.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
We begin with a comprehensive tour of central Madrid, taking in Paseo del Prado, the Cibeles and Neptuno fountains, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. We then continue into Retiro Park – a green oasis in the city centre – to see the lake and the Palacio de Cristal. Admission is included to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, considered by many to be the best football club in the world. The afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. In the evening, we provide a return transfer to your hotel.
Day 3 - Madrid - Granada
We leave Madrid early, travelling south across La Mancha. Our first stop is Puerto Lápice – a classic Manchego village evocative of Don Quixote. We then cross Despeñaperros into Andalusia and continue to Granada, where lunch is included. In the afternoon, if you’ve selected the Alhambra option, we explore the Alhambra Palace and its Generalife gardens with a local guide. Important note: access to the Alhambra is strictly regulated by law – tickets are issued when your tour is confirmed and must match the full name and passport/ID number you provide at booking. These ticket costs are non-refundable if you cancel. On the rare occasion the Alhambra visit cannot be arranged, we will instead tour the Royal Alcázar of Seville, which offers similar historical and architectural significance.
Day 4 - Granada - Nerja - Malaga - Ronda - Seville
Today we leave Granada, taking in spectacular landscapes as we skirt the Sierra Nevada before following the Mediterranean along the Tropical Coast, where the mild climate supports guavas, mangoes and avocados and once sustained sugar cane. We stop in Nerja, a seaside town with impressive cliffs, then continue to Málaga, capital of the Costa del Sol with a lively historic centre. You’ll have time for lunch and a relaxed stroll through the centre. Later, we head into the Andalusian sierras to reach Ronda, a striking white town famed for the dramatic gorge that divides it in two. We continue to Seville, arriving in the late afternoon – dinner is included at the hotel.
Day 5 - Seville
This morning we explore Seville on a guided tour, taking in the cathedral with its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and the well-known neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour, we unwind on an included boat ride along the Guadalquivir, enjoying panoramic views of the city. In the evening, you can choose to attend a flamenco tablao.
Day 6 - Seville
After breakfast, we bring our journey to a close in Seville – time to say our goodbyes. We hope you leave with wonderful, lasting memories of your time in Spain.
