Itinerary
Day 1 - Stockholm

Arrive in Stockholm and collect your rental car at the airport. Make your way to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Head out to explore the city's world-class museums and attractions at your own pace, many within walking distance.
Day 2 - City to Countryside
Stockholm - Trosa - Linkoping. Explore Stockholm at your own pace. You could visit the Town Hall’s Blue Hall, where the Nobel celebration takes place or the Royal Castle and Storkyrkan. Take in the Vasa Museum with its 69m warship, Skansen. There's also the Millesgarden, a sculpture garden with stunning views over Stockholm and the harbour entrance.
In the afternoon, drive 65 km south to Trosa, famous for its charming wooden houses and river promenade. The Sormland Archipelago, over 10,000 years old, has a 60 km coastline, 2,800 islands, and large nature reserves, remaining less developed than other coastal areas. Continue to Linkoping, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
Day 3 - Linkoping to Karlskrona
Linkoping - Vimmerby - Karlskrona. Depart for Karlskrona, with plenty of stops to enjoy along the way at your leisure. Your first stop could be the famous lock stairs of the Gota Canal. Continue to Vimmerby to visit the birthplace of Astrid Lindgren, Sweden’s beloved author, and take a peaceful walk through the town. You may also wish to stop at an elk park to see these majestic animals before reaching your destination.
Day 4 - Coastal Charms & Gems

Karlskrona - Kivik - Ystad - Malmo. On the way to Malmo, stop in Mörrum before heading to the coastal town of Kivik and Wallander’s Ystad.In Ystad, enjoy a delicious lunch in this charming town, known for its pastel-coloured half-timbered houses. Stroll through cobblestone streets and explore its top museums and art galleries.Arrive in Malmo in the afternoon.
Day 5 - Malmo to Gothenburg

Malmo - Gothenburg. In the morning, opt to take a stroll down Malmo’s charming walking street before heading north towards Gothenburg. Drive via Halmstad and enjoy a relaxing lunch at the mouth of the Nissan River. Then, head to Tylosand beach for a peaceful Swedish summer afternoon by the sea.
In the afternoon, explore Gothenburg at your own pace. You could visit the famous Fish Hall, the Avenyn avenue, and the cozy Haga artist quarter. Explore the city’s canals and historic buildings, then enjoy dinner in a beautiful setting.
Day 6 - Coastal Retreats & Castle Wonders

Gothenburg - Orebro. Today, visit the island of Marstrand, a popular seaside resort on Sweden’s west coast. Next, head to the romantically located Lacko Castle in Vastergötland.
Opt to explore the castle’s stunning surroundings before continuing to Orebro. After visiting the castle, enjoy a picnic in the expansive green areas, set against a breathtaking backdrop.
Day 7 - Castles, Canals & Capital Views
Orebro - Stockholm. Spend your morning in Örebro, enjoying a coffee by Lake Hjälmaren. If desired, visit Örebro Castle, a medieval fortification expanded during the reign of the Vasa royal family.
Next, drive to Mariefred, where you can visit Gripsholm Royal Castle, located by Lake Mälaren. Famous for its expansion by King Gustav Vasa in 1537, the castle is a must-see.
Arrive in Stockholm in the afternoon. Then, enjoy an included canal tour of the city. Departing from Strömkajen, the boat takes you past iconic buildings before entering the tranquil Djurgården Canal. Admire historical sites, museums, and green spaces, then take in the stunning Stockholm skyline as you return to the city.
Day 8 - Stockholm

After breakfast spend some time enjoying the last of Sweden before heading to the airport, where you will drop off your rental vehicle.
