On our second day in Los Angeles, after enjoying breakfast, we embark on an included panoramic tour of this vibrant and sprawling city. Our exploration takes us to various notable districts, including the music, civic, and financial centres, as we pass notable landmarks like LA Live and the Staples Center. We then travel along Wilshire Boulevard, moving westwards past the Korean Quarter and the Brea Ditch, before reaching the iconic Beverly Hills. Continuing our journey on the famous Sunset Boulevard, we arrive in Hollywood, renowned for its star-studded Walk of Fame, the Dolby Theatre, the Chinese Theatre, and the world-famous Hollywood Sign. After immersing ourselves in the local sights, we have free time to explore on foot and enjoy lunch at our leisure. Later in the afternoon, a transfer awaits to take us to Long Beach, a coastal city where the blend of palm trees and modern glass architecture creates a stunning scenery. Here, we have time to stroll around Shoreline Village, characterised by its lively restaurants and views across to the historic Queen Mary ocean liner. Tonight, you can choose to enjoy a meal in one of these vibrant dining spots.
Day 3 - Los Angeles - Las Vegas
On the third day, we depart from Los Angeles and journey to the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Once we arrive, we'll embark on a tour of both Downtown and the iconic Strip. This renowned avenue is home to the hotels, casinos, and shows that have transformed Las Vegas into a playground for adults. In the evening, you may wish to join the optional Night of Lights tour, offering a dazzling perspective of the city. Please note, this leg of the journey might be conducted using a regular line bus.
Day 4 - Las Vegas - Grand Canyon - Flagstaff
Today, we embark on an early journey to Arizona, making a stop at the charming town of Seligman, nestled along the iconic Route 66. This stop offers a glimpse into the nostalgia of a bygone era. We then proceed to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, a symbol of the American West and one of the world's natural marvels. Arriving mid-morning, you'll have entrance to the park included. Accompanied by our guide, we'll explore the Bright Angel View Point, followed by Mather Point, both offering stunning vistas from over 2,000 metres above the Colorado River. If you're feeling adventurous, you may opt for an aerial excursion over the canyon. As the afternoon concludes, we will transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - Flagstaff - Las Vegas
On our fifth day, we depart from Flagstaff after breakfast and make our way back to Nevada, with a fascinating drive past the iconic Hoover Dam. Although we won't be stopping, you'll have a chance to observe this engineering marvel from the bus. We will take a break to enjoy lunch before continuing our journey to Las Vegas. In the afternoon, we have organised transport to one of the city's most popular outlet malls, where you can indulge in a spot of shopping. The evening is yours to explore Las Vegas at your leisure, perhaps attending one of its renowned shows—be it a concert, theatre performance, or the spectacular Cirque du Soleil.
Day 6 - Las Vegas - Death Valley - Bakersfield
We depart Las Vegas after breakfast, embarking on an early morning journey through Death Valley, the largest national park in the United States, renowned for its dramatic, rugged landscapes. We'll stop at Zabriskie Point to capture the stunning views, where remnants of ancient salt lakes create an otherworldly scene. Our journey continues to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the USA at 85 metres below sea level. Here, we pause for a typical Far West lunch. After leaving the park, we traverse the central mountain system, skirting the edge of Lake Isabella as we make our way to Bakersfield. It's important to note that from June to October, due to high temperatures and park closures, our visit to Death Valley will be replaced by a trip to Calico Ghost Town.
Day 7 - Bakersfield - Yosemite - Fresno
Leaving the desert behind, today we journey to Yosemite National Park, renowned for its breathtaking mountain scenery. We will explore its iconic landmarks, including El Capitan, Half Dome, and its stunning waterfalls. You’ll have free time to enjoy lunch amidst this natural splendour. As the day concludes, we head to Fresno, where you can unwind and reflect on the day's wonders.
Day 8 - Fresno - Sequoia National Park - Los Angeles
Today, we explore the magnificent Sequoia National Park, home to some of the world's largest and oldest trees. As we wander through this awe-inspiring forest, you'll have the chance to witness the grandeur of these giant sequoias firsthand. Later in the day, we return to Los Angeles, where our adventure concludes. Enjoy the remainder of your evening in this vibrant city with its endless opportunities for dining and exploration.
