Day 1 - Los Angeles
Upon arriving in Los Angeles, you'll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel, where you are free to enjoy your time at leisure. In the afternoon, further information about the start of your exciting journey will be provided. You can also find these details on the informative panels in the hotel reception area, ensuring you're well-prepared for the forthcoming adventures. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Los Angeles
On Day 2, we begin our exploration of Los Angeles with a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a panoramic tour of this vast city. Our journey includes visits to key areas such as the Music Centre, Civic Centre, and the Financial District, passing by iconic landmarks like LA Live and the Staples Center. Travelling along Wilshire Boulevard, we pass through the Korean Quarter and past the Brea Tar Pits, eventually reaching the renowned Beverly Hills. Continuing on Sunset Boulevard, we arrive in Hollywood, where you can spot the famous Hollywood Sign, admire the Walk of Fame, and visit the Dolby and Chinese Theatres. You’ll have some free time to explore the area and grab lunch at your leisure. Later in the afternoon, we transfer to Long Beach, where palm trees beautifully contrast with modern glass structures. Here, we’ll spend time at Shoreline Village, offering a vibrant atmosphere perfect for a scenic walk or a delightful dinner in the lively restaurants overlooking the historic Queen Mary ocean liner.
Day 3 - Los Angeles - Las Vegas
We depart from Los Angeles and make our way to the vibrant city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon arrival, we'll take you on a guided tour of Downtown Las Vegas and the iconic Strip, renowned for its opulent hotels, lively casinos, and dazzling shows. In the evening, you have the option to join us for an enchanting Night of Lights tour, basking in the city’s vibrant nightlife. Please note that this journey may be undertaken on a regular city bus.
Day 4 - Las Vegas - Grand Canyon - Flagstaff
We begin our day with an early departure from Las Vegas, setting our sights on Arizona. Our journey takes us to the charming town of Seligman, nestled along the historic Route 66. This town is a nostalgic nod to Americana and is a delightful stop before we continue on to one of the world's most magnificent natural wonders, the Grand Canyon. Arriving mid-morning, you'll have access to the park as part of our tour. With our knowledgeable guide, we begin by exploring the stunning Bright Angel View Point, before moving on to the equally breathtaking Mather Point, both of which provide panoramic vistas from more than 2,000 metres above the river below. For those seeking an aerial perspective, there is an option to embark on an unforgettable plane excursion. As the afternoon draws to a close, we make our way to our hotel for an evening of rest and relaxation.
Day 5 - Flagstaff - Las Vegas
On the fifth day, after a hearty breakfast, we set off from Flagstaff, Arizona, embarking on our journey back to Nevada. Along the way, you'll catch a glimpse of the famed Hoover Dam from the comfort of our coach, as we continue without stopping. We pause for lunch before our afternoon arrival in Las Vegas. Upon reaching this vibrant city, we offer transportation to one of its popular shopping outlets, where you're free to indulge in some retail therapy. The evening is yours to explore the dazzling array of shows that Las Vegas is renowned for; perhaps take in a concert, visit a theatre, or be mesmerised by the awe-inspiring Cirque Du Soleil.
Day 6 - Las Vegas - Death Valley - Bakersfield
Following breakfast, we embark on a unique journey across Death Valley, the largest national park in the USA, renowned for its striking and rugged scenery. We'll pause to capture the iconic views at Zabriskie Point, known for its fascinating landscape shaped by ancient salt lakes, and visit Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the USA at 85 metres below sea level. Before leaving this extraordinary park, we'll experience a classic Far West lunch. Our route then takes us over the central mountain range and along the picturesque edge of Lake Isabella, culminating in our arrival in Bakersfield. Please note, from June to October, Death Valley is substituted with a visit to Calico Ghost Town due to high temperatures and potential park closures.
Day 7 - Bakersfield - Sequoia National Park - Fresno
Today, we delve into the majestic Sequoia National Park, home to some of the most breathtaking forests in the United States. We'll spend the day exploring the incredible giant sequoias, renowned for their towering heights and immense trunks. As we wander through these awe-inspiring trees, you'll have the chance to marvel at their sheer size and the park's serene natural beauty. By the end of the afternoon, we will have completed our exploration and head towards Los Angeles, where we arrive in the evening. Prepare yourself for a day immersed in nature’s grandeur, leaving you with enduring memories of California's iconic landscapes.
Day 8 - Fresno - Yosemite - San Francisco
After breakfast, we set off towards the stunning Yosemite National Park, celebrated for its breathtaking precipices, majestic waterfalls, and lush vegetation. As one of the most breathtaking mountain landscapes in the world, Yosemite's standout features include El Capitan, Half Dome, and its iconic waterfalls, which we'll explore during our visit. You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch within the park's serene surroundings. In the afternoon, we continue our journey to San Francisco, arriving late in the day, ready to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic city.
Day 9 - San Francisco
This morning, we embark on a captivating tour of San Francisco. Our journey takes us through Union Square, home to the iconic trams, and the bustling Chinatown. We then explore the vibrant Financial and Theatre Districts, followed by the Civic Center and Alamo Square, famed for its elegant Victorian houses set against the backdrop of the city's modern skyline. Continuing, we pass through the charming Castro neighbourhood to reach Twin Peaks, offering spectacular panoramic views of the city and its bay. Next, we delve into the historic Haight-Ashbury, known for its hippie heritage, before making our way to Golden Gate Park for a brief stop. Our tour concludes at the illustrious Golden Gate Bridge. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure; consider taking an optional excursion to Sausalito for breathtaking vistas of San Francisco and its bay. In the evening, we provide a transfer to North Beach, or "Little Italy," renowned for its vibrant nightlife and an array of enticing restaurants.
Day 10 - San Francisco - Monterey - Carmel - San Luis Obispo
Following breakfast, we journey towards Monterey, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along Cannery Row. This area, once home to bustling canning factories, now hosts a variety of restaurants and entertainment venues. After enjoying some time at your own pace in Monterey, we proceed to Carmel, renowned for its charming atmosphere, elegant shops, and intriguing art galleries. Concluding our day's travels, we make our way to San Luis Obispo, a delightful town where we will spend the night.
Day 11 - San Luis Obispo - Santa Barbara - Los Angeles
After breakfast, we'll set off towards Los Angeles. Our journey will include a stop in the charming city of Santa Barbara, renowned for its stunning Mission and Mediterranean-style architecture, filled with a mix of inviting shops and delightful restaurants. You'll have some free time to explore the area at your leisure. Afterwards, we'll continue our trip back to Los Angeles. Later in the afternoon, we'll provide a transfer to Downtown Disney, where you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and explore the lively streets and numerous dining options.
