Day 1 - Baku Old City Discovery

Today, you will be picked up from your hotel in Baku or meet at the designated meeting point before setting out on foot with your guide to explore the Old City, also known as Icherisheher.
As you walk through this historic area, you visit landmarks such as the House of Baku Khans, the Museum of Ethnography and Archaeology, and the Multani and Bukhara Caravanserais, which once hosted traders along the Silk Road. You also see the Maiden Tower, one of Baku’s most recognised symbols, along with St. Bartholomew Church, Juma Mosque and Muhammad Mosque, reflecting the city’s diverse religious heritage.
Your walk continues past Qasim Bey Hammam and the Aliagha Vahid Monument, before visiting the Miniature Book Museum and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a former royal residence and one of the most important architectural sites in Azerbaijan. You also see the Quadrangular Tower, adding to your understanding of the city’s defensive history. The walking experience lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours before the day concludes back at the hotel.

Day 2 - Gobustan & Mud Volcanoes

Baku - Gobustan - Baku. This morning, you will meet at the designated meeting point before travelling to the Gobustan region to explore Azerbaijan’s prehistoric heritage.
You begin at the Gobustan Museum, where you gain insight into early human life through exhibits covering thousands of years of history. You then continue to the Gobustan Rock Shelters, an area known for its ancient caves and rock carvings, where early communities once lived and recorded scenes of daily life, hunting and rituals.
You then visit the mud volcanoes, a unique natural feature for which the region is well known, with numerous active formations across the landscape. On your return to Baku, you stop at Bibi Heybat Mosque, an important religious site with origins dating back to the 13th century. After your visit, you continue back to the city centre, where the day concludes.

Day 3 - Exploring Sheki & Departure from Baku or Georgian Border

Baku - Sheki - Kish - Baku/Georgian Border. You will travel to Sheki, located in the foothills of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, known for its Silk Road history, traditional architecture and artisan crafts.
You begin with a visit to Sheki Khan’s Palace, a UNESCO-listed landmark and one of the most recognised historical sites in Azerbaijan, known for its detailed design and craftsmanship. You then continue to the Old Sheki Caravanserai, a well-preserved Silk Road inn that once accommodated travelling merchants and offers insight into the region’s trading past.
You then spend time in Sheki city centre, where you can experience local life at the bazaar, with opportunities to browse fresh produce, dried fruits, spices, honey, Sheki halva and handmade crafts. Your final stop is the Albanian Church in Kish Village, one of the oldest Christian sites in the Caucasus, associated with early Christian history in the region.
After your visits, you can either be transferred back to Baku and dropped off at your hotel or continue to the Georgian border.
Please note: The total duration of the day is approximately 12 to 13 hours if returning to Baku, or 8 to 9 hours if travelling to the border.
