Day 2 - Victoria Falls
We explore Victoria Falls, following rainforest paths to viewpoints and feeling the cool spray drifting from the cascade. After checking into our lodge, your evening is free in town – you can lounge by the pool, browse shops or line up optional activities for tomorrow.
Day 3 - Kasane
We cross into Botswana and make our way to Kasane on the edge of Chobe National Park, settling into our riverside campsite. In the late afternoon we board a boat cruise on the Chobe River to watch elephants, buffalo and other wildlife along the banks as the sun sets.
Day 4 - Kasane
We enter Namibia and continue through the Caprivi to Ngepi Camp on the Okavango River, where we set up camp and settle into this remote riverside base. The remainder of the day is yours – you can unwind by the water and soak up the relaxed atmosphere.
Day 5 - Ngepi Camp
We enjoy a laid–back day at Ngepi Camp on the Okavango, savouring the tranquil riverside setting and the unhurried pace.
Day 6 - Ngepi Camp - Rundu
We follow the Okavango to Rundu, stock up on supplies and settle into our campsite beside the river. As the afternoon light softens, we head out on a sunset boat cruise along the Kavango floodplain to watch birdlife and river wildlife while the colours deepen.
Day 7 - Rundu - Etosha National Park
We drive west to Etosha National Park, where the scenery shifts from riverine country to arid bush. In the evening we join a game drive to search around the waterholes for elephants, antelope and predators, then after dark we watch wildlife visit the nearby floodlit waterhole.
Day 8 - Etosha National Park
We spend a full day on safari in Etosha, moving between waterholes and sweeping plains, keeping watch for a rich array of mammals and birdlife gathering near the great salt pan.
Day 9 - Etosha National Park - Himba Village Camp
We take a final morning game drive as we make our way to Etosha’s gate, making the most of any last sightings at the waterholes. From there we continue into a remote desert region to reach Ozohere Camp, which supports the local Himba community, and set up at this simple, family–run site.
Day 10 - Himba Village Camp - Cape Cross - Swakopmund
We head west from the Himba region to the Atlantic shore and visit the Cape Cross Seal Reserve on the Skeleton Coast, following the walkways to watch and photograph one of the world’s largest colonies of Cape fur seals. We then continue south to Swakopmund – a striking drive with surf on one side and dunes on the other. On arrival your evening is free – you can stroll the streets, drop into cafés or wander along the beach.
Day 11 - Swakopmund
We are in Swakopmund – a seaside resort with a distinct German influence – and your evening is free to explore. You can wander the streets, visit cafés or take a leisurely walk along the beach.
Day 12 - Swakopmund - Bushman’s Camp
We drive south from Swakopmund into the Namib Desert to our remote campsite at Bushman’s Camp, settle in, then join an expert guide for a desert walk to seek out the Little Five and other small, dune–adapted creatures while learning how life survives in this harsh yet beautiful environment.
Day 13 - Bushman's Camp
We continue into the Namib–Naukluft to the Sesriem area, gateway to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, set up camp inside the park and head out to explore the giant dunes and white clay pans where ancient dead trees stand in stark contrast to the sand. You can relish superb photo opportunities and the brilliant desert night skies.
Day 14 - Namib-Naukluft National Park - Windhoek
We rise early to climb Dune 45 for sweeping views over a vast sea of sand, then enjoy a well–earned breakfast at the base. Leaving the dunes behind, we drive north through desert and rugged mountains to Windhoek, check in and gather for a final evening in the city – often heading out together for a celebratory meal. You can share highlights from the past weeks and bid farewell to new friends.
Day 15 - Windhoek
We collect you from your Windhoek hotel and transfer you to Hosea Kutako International Airport for your onward flight – your Deserts & Delta Family Overland Tour concludes here.
