Day 1 - Beijing
Welcome to China! Upon arrival in Beijing, we'll take you directly to your hotel. In the early evening, we'll head to Wangfujing Street, a bustling pedestrian avenue renowned for its lively atmosphere, myriad of shops, and diverse dining options. This vibrant street offers a fantastic introduction to the city. Dinner will be included, and after an enjoyable evening, we'll return to the hotel. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Beijing
Today, we have an exciting exploration of Beijing ahead of us, the dynamic heart of China. We will spend a full day delving into the city's most iconic attractions. Our tour begins at the Forbidden City, or the Great Chinese Imperial Palace, a significant symbol of China's imperial past, where 24 emperors ruled for nearly five centuries. Our next stop is Jingshan Park, once an imperial garden and now a preserved site offering stunning vistas over the Forbidden City—weather allowing—from Coal Hill.We continue our journey through Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares globally, where we can view the grand Great National Theatre, also known as the Beijing Opera House. An included lunch will keep us energised as we set off for the Summer Palace, the Qing Dynasty's idyllic retreat, celebrated for its tranquil gardens and lakes.In the afternoon, we will immerse ourselves in traditional Beijing life, enjoying a tricycle ride through the historic Hutong neighbourhoods. These winding alleyways reflect the city's rich cultural heritage, and here, we will take the opportunity to visit a Siheyuan, a distinctive courtyard house exemplifying Beijing’s architectural charm. We will then return to our hotel to unwind and relax after our adventure.Please note that access to the Forbidden City is subject to daily visitor limitations due to heritage protection measures. If entry is unavailable, we will explore alternative cultural sites—namely, the Confucius Temple and the Lama Temple—each a cornerstone of Chinese history and tradition.
Day 3 - Beijing
Today, we'll embark on an unforgettable excursion to the Great Wall of China, specifically the Mutianyu section. This iconic structure, a testament to over 2,000 years of history, winds majestically through the stunning mountain landscapes. We’ll travel by cable car to one of the most picturesque sections, offering breathtaking views of this legendary monument. On our return journey to Beijing, we'll stop at the vibrant 798 Art District. This engaging area, housed in a former military factory, is now a thriving hub for contemporary art, boasting a range of galleries, studios, and creative spaces. Our explorations continue with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, acknowledged as one of China's most important sacred sites and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, emperors once performed rituals to ensure bountiful harvests. Before we conclude our day, a soothing foot massage followed by a Tai Chi lesson will provide a peaceful moment of relaxation and a glimpse into the balance and harmony cherished in traditional Chinese culture. We'll bring our day to a close with a lacquered duck dinner—a beloved local delicacy that offers a delicious farewell to our time in Beijing.
Day 4 - Beijing - Seoul
After breakfast, we will arrange your transfer to the airport for a flight to Seoul. Welcome to Korea! Upon arrival, we'll ensure your smooth transfer to the hotel, where you'll meet your guide. In the evening, we'll dive into this fascinating country's culture. Together with our guide, we'll navigate the modern and efficient Seoul subway, giving you a chance to learn its ins and outs. Our first stop will be City Hall, a remarkable structure reminiscent of a tsunami wave. Directly opposite, you'll witness the Deoksugung Palace, which is beautifully illuminated at night, embodying Korea's unique mix of tradition and modernity. We will then walk to the vibrant Myeongdong district, Korea's largest shopping area known for its bustling atmosphere—the name Myeongdong translates to "bright tunnel." We'll conclude the evening with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 5 - Seoul
Today, we embark on a comprehensive exploration of Seoul, beginning with a visit to the Changdeokgung Palace. This UNESCO World Heritage site is set within a vast park and is part of a collection of palatial structures. Our journey next takes us past Bukchon Hanok Village, a historical neighbourhood known for its traditional homes, providing a glimpse into Korea’s past. We continue to the War Memorial of Korea, a formidable museum offering profound insights into Korea's tumultuous history, with particular emphasis on the Korean War, where forces from numerous nations fought under the United Nations banner. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.In the afternoon, we move on to the dynamic Gangnam District, famed for its shopping centres and vibrant entertainment venues. Our day culminates with a visit to the Lotte World Tower, a remarkable skyscraper soaring 550 metres into the sky. Here, you may choose to ascend the tower for panoramic city views (ticket not included) or explore the surrounding park and deluxe shopping malls at your leisure. We will return to the hotel afterwards, leaving you with free time to relax or further explore as you please.
Day 6 - Seoul - Suwon - Jeonju
Today, we will explore the grandeur of Gyeongbokgung Palace, a historic jewel of over 600 years where you can witness the ceremonial changing of the guard, time permitting. Leaving Seoul behind, we'll proceed southwards to Suwon, previously the capital of Korea, famed for its formidable UNESCO-listed walls. In Suwon, we'll explore these formidable defences and visit Hwaseong Haenggung, the summer residence of Korean royalty. A pleasant lunch is included here. Our journey continues to Jeonju, where its captivating historic centre, known as Hanok Village, awaits. This charming area is home to traditional houses, quaint shops, and engaging art galleries.
Day 7 - Jeonju - Damyang - Haeinsa - Busan
Today, we set off for the Sunchang Gochujang Village nestled at the foot of Mount Amisan. This charming village, with its traditional hanok houses and distinctive courtyards brimming with hang-a-ri clay pots, is renowned for the artisans who expertly craft gochujang, a famous Korean chili paste, using time-honoured methods. We’ll have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on session to learn exactly how this celebrated paste is made. Following our culinary adventure, we'll journey to the Juknokwon Bamboo Forest in Damyang. Here, the tranquil paths, revered for their beauty, offer the perfect setting for meditation and a refreshing stroll. This area is also home to the Bamboo Museum, showcasing various bamboo products. We'll enjoy a lunch of local specialties, including rice uniquely prepared and served within a bamboo stalk, perfect for an authentic taste of the region. Our travels then bring us to Haeinsa, a historically significant Buddhist temple dating back to 802 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This temple houses the Tripitaka, an unparalleled collection of Buddhist scriptures meticulously engraved on 80,000 wooden tablets. We conclude our day by continuing to Busan, Korea's bustling second-largest city, known for its lively and vibrant character, where we will settle in for the evening.
Day 8 - Busan
We begin our day in Busan with a visit to the enchanting Haedong Yonggung Temple, a 14th-century Buddhist sanctuary perched majestically by the sea. After soaking in the serene coastal views, we return to Busan to pay our respects at the UN Memorial Cemetery, a solemn resting place that honours the fallen from various nations. Our exploration continues as we delve into the bustling atmosphere of Korea’s largest fish market, situated by Nampo Port, where fresh seafood abounds. Following a delightful lunch, we take a leisurely stroll to Yongdusan Park, dominated by its impressive 120-metre pagoda. Next, we head to Songdo Beach, where you can indulge in a ride on Korea's first marine cable car. Enjoy sweeping vistas of the bay—weather permitting, tickets for this experience are included. We then journey to the vibrant Gamcheon Culture Village, a feast for the eyes with its kaleidoscope of colourful buildings and intricate maze of alleyways. This artistic enclave is home to charming galleries, pottery workshops, and delightful cafes. As we wrap up our day, we return to Busan, where the evening is yours to explore or unwind before a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with a trove of cherished memories from the vibrant city of Busan and the captivating experiences of this remarkable trip.
