Itinerary
Day 1 - Lanzhou - Lan Zhou Shi
Arrive in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province in Northwest China. Upon arrival at Lanzhou Airport, you will be met by our tour representative who will assist with your transfer to the hotel and check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to rest or begin exploring this vibrant city, once a key hub on the Northern Silk Road. Overnight in Lanzhou.
Day 2 - Lanzhou - Lan Zhou Shi
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel at around 9:00 for a visit to Baita Mountain Park. A 30-minute drive brings us to this Ming Dynasty site, where we will spend approximately two hours exploring its historic halls and gardens. Next, we will head to Zhangye Road Pedestrian Street, the vibrant heart of old Lanzhou. With over a century of history, this street is renowned as the city’s oldest cultural and commercial hub, featuring a variety of shops, malls and restaurants. We will return you to the hotel by around 14:00, leaving you the afternoon free to explore Lanzhou at your own pace. Overnight in Lanzhou.
Day 3 - Lanzhou - Lan Zhou Shi
After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure in Lanzhou. You may choose to explore the city’s attractions at your own pace or relax at the hotel and make use of its facilities. Alternatively, you can join one of the optional full-day tours. The Liujiaxia Reservoir tour includes a high-speed boat ride from Xiangyang Pier to Bingling Temple, where you can admire the grottoes and surrounding scenery before returning by boat. The Xiahe excursion offers a visit to Labrang Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist cultural centre in Gansu. The Maijishan Grottoes tour involves a high-speed train journey to Tianshui South Railway Station, followed by a visit to this renowned Buddhist cave complex, often called the “Oriental Sculpture Museum.” Lastly, the Yellow River Stone Forest tour takes you on a scenic drive to Jingtai County to explore a striking natural stone forest landscape. All tours include transfers from and back to the hotel.
Day 4 - Lanzhou - Lan Zhou Shi
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for your onward or return flight.
