Itinerary
Day 1 - Bogota - Guatavita
At approximately 09:00, we collect you from your hotel in Bogotá and set off on a scenic drive into the Andean highlands. Your first stop is the sacred Guatavita Lagoon – heartland of the Muisca civilisation and the source of the El Dorado legend – where a guided walk reveals ancestral rituals, living traditions and the area’s striking natural beauty.
You then continue to the town of Guatavita, admired for its white houses in colonial style and tranquil ambience, before a brief, playful visit to the quirky Upside Down House for memorable photos. Afterwards, return to Bogotá and back to your central hotel.
Day 2 - Bogota - Pasquilla - Bogota
At approximately 09:00, we collect you from your hotel in Bogotá and drive to Pasquilla in Ciudad Bolívar – a rural enclave close to the city with enduring farming traditions and strong community values.
On arrival, begin with a welcome aromatherapy session using local products that showcase the region’s abundance. With a professional guide and a local interpreter, you explore the world of beekeeping – its importance for biodiversity and the balance of ecosystems – before putting on protective gear to approach the hives and observe how bees work and how honey and other products are made. This practical experience deepens our understanding of sustainable agriculture and the vital role of pollinators. A typical regional lunch prepared with local ingredients follows, and later you return to Bogotá.
