Itinerary
Day 1 - Pereira
On arrival at Matecaña International Airport (PEI), we’ll arrange a private transfer to your hotel in Pereira for check–in. The remainder of the day is at leisure – you can unwind after the journey or step out to enjoy the Coffee Region’s pleasant climate. Overnight in Pereira.
Day 2 - Pereira - Santa Rosa de Cabal
After breakfast at your hotel, we travel by private vehicle to Santa Rosa de Cabal in Risaralda for a guided visit to Finca del Café. With a local coffee expert, we walk through speciality plantations and follow each stage of production – from planting and selective hand picking to pulping – to understand how Colombia’s celebrated beans are made. We then roast beans over a wood fire in a traditional farmhouse kitchen using methods still practised by local growers. Along the way, we pause at guadua bamboo viewpoints to take in the scenery while enjoying a freshly brewed cup. The visit wraps up with the farm’s drying and processing techniques, before we return to the main house for a refreshing coffee lemonade – a fitting finish in the Coffee Cultural Landscape. We head back to Pereira for the night.
Day 3 - Pereira - Cocora Valley - Salento - Filandia
After breakfast at your hotel, we travel by private transport through the Coffee Cultural Landscape to the Cocora Valley – if we make the journey by Jeep Willys, the visit starts in Salento. On arrival, we’re welcomed with a warm canelazo before setting off on a trek among the majestic wax palms – Colombia’s national tree and the tallest palm species in the world. We continue into the Cocora Natural Reserve, where a local eco guide introduces the region’s biodiversity, and take part in the Wax Palm Ritual of Quindío – a short storytelling session on how indigenous communities once revered the tree, followed by the symbolic planting of wax palm seedlings as a gesture of conservation.Next, we head to colourful Salento for a walking tour along its colonial streets, after which you have free time to browse handicraft shops and cosy coffee houses – you can also choose to join an optional barista show featuring speciality coffee at Jesús Martín Café. We then continue to Filandia to visit its historic centre and the Quindío Viewpoint – entrance included – with the chance to stop at traditional basketry workshops to observe artisans at work; you can purchase handmade crafts if you wish. The day concludes with a local gastronomic tasting before we return to your hotel. Overnight in Pereira.
Day 4 - Pereira
After breakfast, we organise check out and – at the scheduled time – your private transfer from the hotel to Matecaña International Airport (PEI) for your departure flight. We hope you leave with lasting memories of the Coffee Cultural Landscape, its traditions and the warmth of its people.
