Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome
On arrival into Kittilä Airport, you'll be met and transferred to the breathtaking accommodation. Take time to explore the arctic wilderness surrounding the resort or relax and prepare for the adventure ahead as you settle into your accommodation, a modern panoramic room.
Day 2 - Arctic Dog Adventure

Today, enjoy an Adventure with Arctic Dogs (5km husky experience). You’ll visit a local husky farm where the eager Arctic dogs are ready to greet you. You’ll set off on an exciting 5 km sled ride through snowy forest trails, sharing the sled between two people and taking turns as the driver. After the ride, your husky guide will share stories about life with the dogs while you warm up with hot drinks and biscuits.
As night falls, you may also choose to join the optional Snowshoes Twilight experience – a peaceful evening walk through the silent winter forest to a campfire site, where you’ll stop for a hot drink while searching the skies for the magical Northern Lights. Your guide will share stories and insights about Aurora Borealis, and if conditions are right, you may witness the lights dancing above the snowy landscape.
The day ends with dinner at your accommodation.
Day 3 - Traditional Reindeer Ride

Today, enjoy a Traditional Reindeer Ride (4km) through a peaceful snow-covered forest, guided by an experienced reindeer herder. You’ll glide through the Arctic landscape in a traditional sleigh before arriving at a warm Lappish tepee, where you can enjoy coffee or tea while listening to fascinating stories about reindeer herding from a local expert who has spent their life working with these animals. After the experience, you’ll return to Ylläsjärvi by bus.
As an optional experience, you may also choose to join Aurora Ice Floating – a truly unique Arctic activity where you float safely in a frozen lake wearing a high-quality rescue suit that keeps you warm and dry. If conditions allow, you may even witness the Northern Lights above you while relaxing in the icy water. After the float, you’ll warm up by the fireplace in a cosy wilderness cottage with hot drinks and biscuits.
Day 4 - Free time to explore
Today is a free day to relax or explore at your own pace, with a selection of optional winter activities available.
You may choose to join the King of Ylläs snowmobile excursion, a thrilling 3-hour adventure taking you up to the top of Ylläs fell. Weather permitting, you’ll reach the summit for breathtaking views across the surrounding fells and even into Sweden, with a stop at a mountaintop café for a hot drink and doughnut. The journey continues through snowy forests and frozen landscapes before returning to Ylläsjärvi.
Alternatively, you can take part in the Northern Lights Photo Tour, travelling by vehicle to carefully selected viewing spots with the best chances of seeing the aurora. Along the way, your guide will capture professional photos of your experience and share tips for photographing in low light. Even if the Northern Lights don’t appear, you’ll return with memorable images and a unique Arctic evening adventure.
Day 5 - Goodbye Finland
Today marks the end of your time in the arctic wonderland of Yllas. A departure transfer will be provided to take you back to Kittilä Airport.
