Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where you can relax and settle in. In the afternoon, you’ll find essential information about the start of your tour displayed on the notice boards in the hotel reception area, helping you prepare for the days ahead. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, renowned for its grand architecture and extensive gardens (entrance not included). After returning to Paris, we explore Montmartre, a vibrant bohemian district famous for its artistic heritage and lively cabarets. To take in the full scale of the city, we then enjoy a panoramic tour led by a local guide, passing through Paris’s impressive avenues and iconic landmarks. The day concludes with a return to the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 3 - Paris
We begin our day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. We include entrance to the second floor of this famous landmark, allowing you to take in sweeping views of the city. Following this, we’ll enjoy a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine River, lasting around one hour and fifteen minutes. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace. Please note, if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, the visit may be rescheduled to a different time or day to ensure a smooth experience. Transfers back to the hotel are not included this afternoon.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we travel to the heart of France, passing through the Burgundy region—famed for its scenic vineyards and exceptional wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a delightful town known for its flower-filled streets, historic hospice, and wine museum. You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch and take a stroll around. Afterwards, we continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul, situated on the banks of the Rhône River. Lyon’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We’ll take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where we can take in panoramic views of the city. You’ll then have some free time to explore at your own pace. Please note that in some cases, part of the group will stay overnight in Chambéry, a nearby city with a charming medieval centre and notable castle, which you can visit the following morning.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
We leave Lyon this morning and travel to Switzerland, arriving in Geneva. Here, we pass the Palace of Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations, and visit the English Garden, famous for its flower clock, before admiring the Jet d?Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, we continue through Switzerland along scenic routes by Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel, crossing the picturesque Three Lakes region with its vineyards set against a mountain backdrop. We pause in Neuch?tel for a lakeside walk, a chance to explore the historic town centre, or visit its 10th-century castle. Our day ends with arrival in Zurich late afternoon. Please note, depending on passenger numbers, the Geneva to Zurich segment may be by train, in which case the stop in Neuch?tel will not be included.
Day 6 - Zurich
We begin the day with a guided tour of Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and its financial and cultural centre. Known for its banking sector, Zurich has twice been named the city with the highest quality of life worldwide. Afterwards, we take a scenic cruise on Lake Zurich lasting nearly two hours, with brief stops to admire the charming lakeside villages along the route. We disembark in Rapperswil, a picturesque town famed for its medieval castle. From there, we return to Zurich by train, experiencing the efficiency and punctuality of the Swiss rail system. Depending on group size, transfers to and from the city centre may be by public transport.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today’s route showcases some of Switzerland’s most striking scenery, with towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. We’ll begin in the Interlaken region, stopping first in Grindelwald where you can enjoy a coffee before we take a cable car up the mountain. There, we’ll walk along a winding trail leading to a suspended bridge that offers spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers—crossing it is an option for those feeling adventurous. Lunch on the mountain is included before we descend and continue to Lucerne, one of Switzerland’s most charming cities. You’ll have free time here to explore its picturesque streets and landmarks at your own pace. Later, we’ll return to Zurich. Your guide will also present an optional full-day excursion—starting in the morning with free time in Lucerne, followed by a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis. At over 3,000 metres, the alpine peak provides breathtaking views of the glacier and the Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We depart Zurich early, crossing the Alps to reach the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, where you’ll have time to explore its three medieval castles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that underscores the town’s strategic importance in the Alps. Afterwards, we’ll continue into Italy, arriving in Como for lunch. This charming town, regarded as the jewel of Lombardy, is known for its beautiful lakeside gardens and impressive cathedral. Later, we’ll head to Milan, where our guide will introduce you to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have some free time to explore the area before we transfer you to your hotel for the evening.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today, we travel from Milan to Pisa, where we take a small tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, or Square of Miracles. Here, you will have time to admire one of Italy’s finest artistic complexes, including the renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa. Later in the day, we continue to Rome, arriving in the evening.
Day 10 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll enjoy a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride. We’ll see iconic landmarks including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where you can choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we’ll include a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere district, known for its lively atmosphere and inviting restaurants. The return to the hotel is scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
We leave Rome this morning, travelling north through the beautiful Italian countryside towards Florence. On arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to take in sweeping views over the city’s famous skyline. From there, we walk together into Florence’s historic centre. After some time for lunch, a local expert will guide us on a walking tour, highlighting key landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. Florence is often described as an open-air museum, and you will have free time afterward to explore at your own pace. In the evening, the district offers a wide range of dining options, with many restaurants serving a variety of international cuisines.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
Today we travel across the Apennine Mountains, enjoying the striking mountain scenery as we make our way to Venice. Upon arrival, we take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to Venice’s island centre. With a local guide, we visit the magnificent St Mark’s Square before touring the Murano Glass Factory, where you’ll see traditional glassmaking techniques in action. Afterward, you’ll have some free time to explore Venice independently. Accommodation is in the Mestre district for the night.
Day 13 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice this morning and travel into Austria. Upon arriving in Innsbruck, you will have time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in the Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we continue along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a picturesque village known as a popular ski resort. You will have some free time here to discover the town before we journey on to Salzburg, arriving by the end of the day. If the group is small, this section of the trip may be by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 14 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, we’ll explore Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. The city’s Renaissance and Baroque architecture is set beneath the imposing Hohensalzburg Fortress, offering a glimpse into its rich cultural heritage. From Salzburg, we travel through picturesque lakes and mountain scenery to reach St Wolfgang, a well-known Austrian pilgrimage site. Next, we continue to Traunkirchen on the shore of Lake Traunsee, where we’ll enjoy a boat cruise included in the itinerary. This tranquil cruise takes us past four castles along the lake before we disembark in Gmunden. From there, we’ll proceed to Vienna, arriving in the evening to prepare for the next stage of the journey.
Day 15 - Vienna
Today, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, exploring its grand boulevards, elegant palaces, expansive parks and vibrant city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to discover the city at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll provide a transfer to the Grinzing district, a historic wine-growing village now part of Vienna, renowned for its traditional taverns. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy dinner there in a relaxed, authentic atmosphere.
Day 16 - Vienna - Budapest
After approximately three hours of travel, we arrive in Budapest, Hungary’s vibrant capital. Our first stop is the bustling Váci utca, where you’ll have free time for lunch and to soak up the lively atmosphere. Afterwards, we’ll embark on a scenic boat trip along the Danube River, providing exceptional views of historic Buda on one side and the cosmopolitan Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we’ll begin a panoramic tour of this captivating city, often called the "Queen of the Danube." You’ll enjoy some free time later to explore independently. In the evening, there is an optional outing featuring a traditional Magyar show, complete with dinner.
Day 17 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We depart Budapest early and travel to Bratislava, Slovakia’s capital, situated on the Danube with a charming historic centre. You’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague in the evening. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer you to Old Town Square, a lively central area that provides a great introduction to the city’s vibrant atmosphere and numerous attractions. You can choose to dine at one of the many nearby restaurants offering a range of international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian. Later, we’ll return to the hotel for the night.
Day 18 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. A local guide will lead us on a panoramic tour, showcasing the city’s most significant landmarks. Included in the visit is Prague Castle, one of the largest historic castles in the world. Afterwards, we’ll take a relaxing boat ride on the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of the city. You’ll have the afternoon free to further discover Prague at your own pace.
Day 19 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We leave Prague early and travel west to Pilsen, a city famed for its brewing heritage. You’ll have time to explore the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-era town hall. Crossing into Germany, we’ll follow part of the Romantic Road to Rothenburg, a picturesque town often described as a fairy-tale village and one of the country’s most beautiful. From there, we continue to Frankfurt, the financial hub of Germany. On arrival in the evening, you’ll have free time to enjoy the historic city centre, which offers a wide range of restaurants serving Indian, Asian, Italian, and international cuisine.
Day 20 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we embark on a scenic cruise along the Rhine, sailing between Rüdesheim and St. Goar through one of the river’s most picturesque stretches, renowned for its charming villages and historic castles. After the cruise, we travel to Cologne to admire its immense Gothic cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Later, we continue our journey to the Netherlands, arriving in Amsterdam by evening.
Day 21 - Amsterdam
Today we explore some of the most charming and quintessentially Dutch scenes. We begin at Zaanse Schans, famed for its traditional houses, scenic canals and iconic windmills. Next, we visit Volendam, a picturesque fishing village known for its waterfront views and quaint streets. From Volendam, we take a short boat ride to Marken, an area once an island, now connected to the mainland by a dike. Here, the distinctive stilt houses reveal the region’s historic approach to flood protection. In the afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam, taking in highlights such as a classic windmill with the Rembrandt statue, the modern elegance of the South District, and the renowned diamond-cutting tradition at Museum Square. The tour concludes in the city centre, where you have free time to wander Amsterdam’s famous canals, markets and cafés.
Day 22 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
Following breakfast, we travel to Belgium, arriving in Brussels—home to key European institutions and a vibrant mix of history and culture. We will admire the stunning Grand Place, a prime example of Flemish Baroque architecture, and take a stroll past the famous Manneken Pis statue. The city offers a unique blend of heritage, chocolate delights, and contemporary life. In the afternoon, we continue into France, reaching Paris by evening.
Day 23 - Paris
After breakfast, your tour concludes in Paris. You’ll have time to reflect on the experiences and memories gathered throughout your journey before making your onward arrangements.
