Day 1 - Paris
Upon arrival in Paris, we'll transfer you to your hotel where you'll have some free time to settle in. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at the hotel reception for details about the start of your tour and any relevant updates.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Paris
We'll begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, exploring its rich history and renowned gardens (admission not included). On our return to Paris, we'll discover Montmartre, a charming bohemian district famous for its artistic heritage and vibrant cabarets. To complete the experience, we'll enjoy a panoramic city tour with a local guide, highlighting Paris's grand avenues and iconic landmarks. After the tour, we'll return to the hotel. In the evening, you may choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 3 - Paris
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where we will ascend to the second floor - tickets are included. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine, lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, offering views of the city's renowned landmarks from the river. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace; transfers back to the hotel are not included. Please note that if wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust the visit to a different time or day for your convenience.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today we travel to the heart of France, passing through the Bourgogne region, celebrated for its scenic vineyards and outstanding wines. Our first stop is Beaune, a charming town known for its colourful streets, historic hospice, and wine museum. You'll have some free time to enjoy lunch and stroll around. Afterwards, we continue to Lyon, the former capital of Roman Gaul, situated on the banks of the Rhine River. Lyon's historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We take a cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourviere to admire impressive panoramic views of the city. There will be free time to explore Lyon at your leisure. Please note, on some occasions part of the group may stay overnight in Chambery, a nearby town with a medieval atmosphere, where you'll have time the following morning to visit its historic centre and castle.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we travel from Lyon into Switzerland, arriving first in Geneva. We'll pass the Palace of Nations, home to the European headquarters of the United Nations, and visit the quaint English Garden, admired for its famous flower clock. We'll also see the Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, we continue along scenic routes beside Lake Geneva and Lake Neuchatel, driving through the picturesque Three Lakes region. Here, vast vineyards stretch beneath alpine mountains. We'll stop in Neuchatel, where you can enjoy a lakeside walk, explore the historic centre, or visit the striking 10th-century castle. Our journey concludes in Zurich, arriving in the late afternoon. Please note that if the group travels by train between Geneva and Zurich, there will be no stop in Neuchatel.
Day 6 - Zurich
Today, we explore Zurich, Switzerland's largest city and its financial and cultural hub. With our guide, we visit key landmarks and learn about Zurich's reputation for quality of life and banking excellence. Afterwards, we embark on a scenic cruise on Lake Zurich lasting nearly two hours, stopping briefly at several charming lakeside villages. We disembark in Rapperswil, a picturesque town known for its medieval castle. From there, we return to Zurich by train, giving you a chance to experience the efficiency of the Swiss railway system. Depending on group size, transfers to and from the city centre may be made using public transport.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today's journey offers striking mountain and lake scenery in the Interlaken region. We'll stop first in Grindelwald for a coffee break before taking the cable car up the mountain. From there, we walk along a winding path to a suspended bridge, which adventurous travellers may choose to cross for impressive views of the surrounding glaciers. Lunch is included on the mountain before we descend and continue to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities. You'll have free time to explore its charming streets and historic sites at your own pace. We'll then return to Zurich for the evening. There is also an optional full-day excursion available, beginning in the morning, which includes free time in Lucerne followed by a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis, over 3,000 metres above sea level, offering spectacular views of the glacier and Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We depart Zurich early, crossing the Alps into Switzerland's Italian-speaking region. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famous for its trio of medieval castles, all UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These hilltop fortresses underline Bellinzona's historic role as a vital alpine stronghold. You'll have some free time to explore the charming streets of the town centre. Next, we continue into Italy, arriving in Como for lunch. Known as the jewel of Lombardy, Como is celebrated for its lakeside gardens and impressive cathedral. Afterwards, we travel to Milan where our guide will lead a visit to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You'll have time to explore the area before we transfer you to the hotel for the evening.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
We leave Milan this morning and travel to Pisa, where we take a small tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli. Here, you'll have time to admire this remarkable architectural ensemble, including the renowned Leaning Tower of Pisa. Later, we continue to Rome, arriving in the evening.
Day 10 - Rome
In the morning, we'll enjoy a three-hour guided tour of Rome, blending a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride through the city's historic heart. We'll pass iconic sites including the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant-Angelo. The tour concludes around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City, where you can opt to visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with our guide. Later, we include a transfer to Trastevere, a vibrant neighbourhood famed for its lively atmosphere and inviting restaurants. You'll have time to enjoy dinner here before we return to the hotel around 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Florence
We leave Rome this morning, travelling north through the beautiful Italian countryside to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo to enjoy sweeping views over the city. From there, we take a guided walking tour with a local expert through the historic centre, visiting key landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. After some time for lunch, you'll have free time to explore Florence at your own pace. In the evening, the district offers a wide choice of restaurants serving international cuisine for you to enjoy.
Day 12 - Florence - Venice
Today we travel from Florence through the scenic Apennine Mountains en route to Venice. Upon arrival, we take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to Venice's island centre. With a local guide, we explore the impressive St. Mark's Square, then visit the Murano Glass Factory to see the traditional techniques behind this centuries-old craft. You'll have some free time afterward to discover Venice at your own pace. Our overnight stay will be in the Mestre district.
Day 13 - Venice
After breakfast, we conclude our tour in Venice. You will have the chance to reflect on your experiences and enjoy some final moments in this extraordinary city before your onward arrangements.
