Day 1 - Berlin
Upon your arrival in Berlin, you'll be transferred to your hotel, giving you a chance to settle in and enjoy some leisure time. In the afternoon, relevant information regarding the start of your journey will be displayed on boards located at the hotel reception, allowing you to prepare for the days ahead. Enjoy your first evening in this vibrant city and explore at your own pace, setting the tone for the adventure that awaits. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
Today, we dive into the vibrant tapestry of Berlin, Germany's capital, accompanied by an expert local guide. On our scenic coach tour, you will glimpse the iconic Museum Island, the towering Television Tower, and the bustling commercial heart of the city. The tour will also take you past poignant historical sites like the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, as well as showcase the city's lush parks. We will pause to visit two significant memorials: the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, both standing as solemn reminders of Germany's complex past in the 20th century. Following this enriched morning experience, you have the afternoon to uncover Berlin's many layers at your leisure. Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
Today, our journey takes us through beautiful forest landscapes to Dresden, a city celebrated for its remarkable architecture and artistic heritage. Known as one of Germany's prime tourist destinations, Dresden offers an array of magnificent palaces for you to explore. There's ample time for lunch at one of the city’s charming restaurants or cosy coffee shops. We then continue our adventure into the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague with plenty of time to acquaint yourself with the vibrant Old Town Square. This lively area is perfect for your initial experience of the city, and you'll find numerous dining options featuring international and local Czech cuisine—perhaps try a restaurant offering Chinese, Indian, or Italian dishes. We'll return to the hotel later in the evening, ensuring you have a restful night after a day filled with fascinating exploration.
Day 4 - Prague
Today, immerse yourself in the cultural and architectural beauty of Prague, often referred to as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our experienced local guide will lead an insightful panoramic tour, showcasing the city's most remarkable monuments. A visit to Prague Castle is included – one of the largest ancient castles in the world. Following this, enjoy a serene boat ride along the Vltava River, offering a unique perspective of Prague's picturesque skyline. In the afternoon, you'll have the freedom to explore the city at your leisure. Stroll through its charming streets, uncover hidden gems, and perhaps indulge in some local delicacies.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
Today, we start our journey early as we make our way into Bavaria, Germany. We'll arrive in Munich around midday, where you'll have the opportunity to wander the historic city centre at your leisure and enjoy a relaxed lunch. By afternoon, our travels take us onwards to Austria. Nestled in the heart of the Alps awaits Innsbruck, the vibrant capital of Tyrol. You'll have time to discover its charm and savour dinner in the picturesque Golden Roof area within the Old Town.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Salzburg
Today, we will begin by visiting the Swarovski Museum, the esteemed home of crystals where you can witness the artistry involved in creating these exquisite pieces. Admission to the museum and its stunning gardens is included in your visit. Following this, you'll have free time to wander around Innsbruck's historic centre, absorbing the charm of this Tyrolean city. Our journey continues along picturesque mountain roads as we make our way to Kitzbühel. This renowned Tyrolean town is celebrated for its world-famous ski resort and the thrilling Hahnenkamm Race, one of the most prestigious events in alpine skiing. By the end of the day, we will arrive in Salzburg, poised for the next leg of our adventure.
Day 7 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, you'll delve deeper into the wonders of Austria. We begin our morning in Salzburg, the charming birthplace of Mozart, where the city's Renaissance and Baroque architecture lie beneath the imposing presence of the grand castle. Following our exploration of Salzburg, we journey through scenic landscapes of lakes and mountains, arriving at the picturesque village of St. Wolfgang, a renowned pilgrimage destination. Our next stop is Traunkirchen, nestled beside the stunning Lake Traunsee, where we include a delightful cruise. This excursion allows us to view four of the lake's castles, culminating in our arrival in Gmunden. Afterwards, we continue our travels to Vienna, reaching the city by the evening.
Day 8 - Vienna
After breakfast, we will board the MS Splendor in Vienna to commence our cruise. Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m., but should you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your luggage at the reception and explore the city of Vienna at your leisure. A warm welcome reception and dinner are included as we settle in for our first night aboard the ship, moored in the enchanting city of Vienna.
Day 9 - Vienna
After a hearty breakfast, set out on a sweeping tour of Vienna, taking in the city’s most iconic sights. We’ll marvel at the splendid architecture along the Ringstrasse, pass by the renowned Vienna State Opera, and admire the extensive collections housed in the Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum of Natural History. Our journey continues with views of the grand Hofburg Palace, once the winter residence of the Habsburgs, alongside the impressive Austrian Parliament, Vienna City Hall, the Museum of Applied Arts, the towering Votive Church, and the historic National Theatre. Following this enriching morning, you will have leisure time to further explore the city before returning to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon, the choice is yours: either delve deeper into Vienna's cultural treasures or consider optional excursions such as a visit to the Hofburg Palace, a tour of the Opera House, or attend a classical music concert. We will set sail at midnight, gliding overnight to our next destination.
Day 10 - Vienna - Melk - Wachau Valley - Dürnstein
We will spend an enchanting day cruising along the Danube through the picturesque Wachau Valley. Our morning begins in Melk, where you will have the opportunity to explore at your leisure and visit the magnificent Melk Abbey, a true masterpiece of Baroque architecture. As the day unfolds, we will make our way to the charming village of Dürnstein, renowned for its striking blue church and historic significance. Sailing through this stunning stretch of the river offers a perfect vantage point to appreciate the valley's famous landscapes. As we overnight sail to our next destination, enjoy the tranquillity of the Danube's gentle currents under the stars.
Day 11 - Dürnstein - Esztergom
As we sail through the captivating Danube Bend, you'll find yourself mesmerised by one of the river's most picturesque stretches. In the afternoon, we visit Esztergom, steeped in history and known as the birthplace of Hungary's first king, Stephen I. Here, you can admire the imposing basilica, a symbol of the country's deep-rooted history. After exploring this significant site, you'll have free time to wander and soak up the local atmosphere. As we dine, our journey resumes towards Budapest, where we will arrive at midnight and spend the night.
Day 12 - Esztergom - Budapest
As dawn breaks, you'll find yourself in the heart of Budapest, the enchanting capital of Hungary, known for its stunning architecture and rich history. After a leisurely breakfast, we'll embark on a captivating panoramic tour of this impressive city, divided by the majestic Danube River into the historic Buda and vibrant Pest. Our journey will take us to the architectural wonder of the Fisherman’s Bastion with its panoramic views, the significant Synagogue, and the iconic St. Stephen’s Basilica, named after the first king of Hungary. The afternoon is yours to freely explore the city’s myriad attractions or partake in optional activities at your leisure. We'll spend the evening docked in Budapest, offering you the chance to experience the city's night-time charms.
Day 13 - Budapest
You'll have the morning at your leisure to further explore the enchanting city of Budapest or participate in optional activities if you wish. At midday, our cruise departs, setting sail for our next adventure in Slovakia. Prepare for another night of travel as we journey to new destinations.
Day 14 - Budapest - Bratislava
We arrive in Bratislava in the early morning, where after breakfast we embark on a guided walking tour of the Slovak capital. As we navigate the charming historic centre, you’ll encounter notable landmarks including the Old Town Hall, Hlavné Námestie (Main Square), the Ganymede Fountain, the Slovak National Theatre, and the stately St. Martin’s Cathedral. The afternoon is yours to explore Bratislava at your own pace, delving deeper into its rich cultural tapestry or simply enjoying the local atmosphere. In the evening, we continue our journey, sailing overnight.
Day 15 - Bratislava - Vienna
After enjoying breakfast, you will disembark from the ship in Vienna. Please ensure your cabin is vacated by 9:00 a.m., but rest assured, you can leave your luggage on board while you make the most of your final hours in this vibrant city. You're free to relax in the ship's communal spaces or venture out to further explore Vienna at your own pace. Our services conclude today, offering you cherished memories to accompany you on your journey back home.
