Itinerary
Day 1 - Berlin
Welcome to Berlin. We’ll transfer you to your hotel on arrival. The rest of the day is at leisure – you can relax, unpack or explore the area at your own pace. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at hotel reception for details on the start of your tour.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
This morning we join a local guide for a panoramic tour of Berlin by coach, taking in Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city centre’s main shopping streets, the old cathedral ruined in the Second World War, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and the city’s expansive parks. We stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial – a stark tribute to the victims of the Holocaust – and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum, reflecting on the city’s division in the last century. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. In the early evening we provide a transfer to the lively Kantstrasse area.
Day 3 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We leave Berlin and travel through forested landscapes to Dresden, celebrated for its architectural and artistic heritage. You’ll have free time to explore the grand palaces and choose a spot for lunch in one of the many restaurants and coffee shops.Later, we continue to the Czech Republic and arrive in Prague. We head straight to Old Town Square – a lively hub that’s perfect for your first look at the city. You can dine at your choice of restaurants serving international options, including Czech, Chinese, Indian and Italian. We then return to the hotel.
Day 4 - Prague
Today we explore the Czech capital, Prague – a Baroque jewel – on a panoramic tour with a local guide, highlighting the city’s most notable monuments. We then visit Prague Castle with admission included, followed by an included boat cruise on the Vltava. The afternoon is free for you to continue exploring at your own pace.
Day 5 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We depart early and head into Bavaria, arriving in Munich around midday. You have free time to wander the historic city centre and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon we continue to Austria, reaching Innsbruck in the heart of the Alps. You have time to explore the Old Town – including the area around the Golden Roof – and choose a place for dinner.
Day 6 - Innsbruck - Zurich
Start the day with a visit to the Swarovski Museum – the celebrated home of crystal. We’ll explore its gardens and learn about how Swarovski pieces are created. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to wander before we travel to Zurich, taking in the Tyrolean scenery en route. In Zurich, we head to the historic centre by the lake for the evening – you can choose from restaurants serving Asian, Italian, international and Swiss cuisine.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
We leave Zurich for a day of classic Swiss scenery – high peaks, deep valleys and clear lakes – as we travel through the Interlaken region. Our first stop is Grindelwald for a coffee break before we take a cable car up the mountain. At the top, we follow a scenic path to a suspended bridge – those who wish can cross for wide views of the surrounding glaciers. We include lunch on the mountain before descending. We then continue to Lucerne, where you will have time to explore the lakeside and Old Town at your own pace, before we return to Zurich in the evening.If you prefer, your guide will offer an optional full day excursion that begins this morning and includes free time in Lucerne before a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis at over 3,000 metres – a vantage point for expansive views of the glacier and the Alps.
Day 8 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We leave Zurich early, crossing the Alps into Switzerland’s Italian speaking region. Our first stop is Bellinzona – renowned for its three medieval hilltop castles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that underscores the city’s role as a key alpine stronghold. You’ll have free time to wander the historic centre.We then enter Italy and pause in Como for lunch – the town is known for its lakeside gardens and striking cathedral. We continue to Milan, where our guide will introduce the impressive Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have a little time to explore before we transfer you to the hotel.
Day 9 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today we depart Milan for Pisa. On arrival, we ride the small tourist train to Piazza dei Miracoli – the Square of Miracles – where you have free time to take in the renowned complex, including the Leaning Tower. We then continue to Rome, arriving later in the day.
Day 10 - Rome
This morning we take a three-hour guided exploration of Rome – part on foot through Imperial Rome and part by coach for a panoramic overview. We’ll see the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, the Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour ends at Vatican City at around 11:00 a.m. Your guide will then offer an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel – or you can spend the afternoon as you wish. In the evening we include a transfer to the Trastevere district – known for its cosy restaurants and lively atmosphere – with return to the hotel at around 8:30 p.m.
Day 11 - Rome - Madrid
At the time advised by your guide, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your included flight to Madrid. On arrival, we’ll provide a transfer to your hotel. Your guide will contact you towards the end of the afternoon – or you can check the information at reception.Please note that on these flights the usual allowance is one piece of hold luggage up to 20 kg – any excess must be paid directly to the airline.
Day 12 - Madrid
This morning we take a guided tour of central Madrid, taking in Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón and Plaza Mayor. We then visit Retiro Park in the city centre to see the lake and the Palacio de Cristal. Admission to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium – home of Real Madrid – is included. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we provide a transfer back to the hotel.
Day 13 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We depart Madrid in the morning for Aragón, travelling through the lands of Castile. In Zaragoza we stop to admire the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. We then continue to the serene Poblet Abbey – one of the best preserved medieval monasteries – with entry included. Afterwards we head on to Barcelona, arriving in the evening.
Day 14 - Barcelona
In the morning, we take a panoramic tour of Barcelona – a Mediterranean city celebrated for Gaudí’s modernist architecture, its lively Ramblas and the legacies of its World Expositions and Olympic Games. The tour concludes at Maremagnum, the waterfront dining and leisure complex beside Columbus Square, where you can stroll through this vibrant area. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. We return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 15 - Barcelona - Paris
At the scheduled time, we’ll transfer you to the station for your included high-speed train from Barcelona to Paris. Settle in for just over six hours of comfortable travel. On arrival, we’ll provide a transfer to your hotel. Your guide will contact you this evening – alternatively, you can check the information boards at reception for timings and details. Please note that the train journey is unescorted by a tour guide.
Day 16 - Paris
We begin with an excursion to the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – renowned for its vast formal gardens and grand exterior, once the seat of the French court under Louis XIV. We then return to Paris to visit Montmartre, the bohemian neighbourhood long associated with artists and cabarets.To round off the day, we take a panoramic city tour with a local guide, showcasing Paris’s broad avenues and major landmarks, before returning to the hotel. In the evening, you can choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 17 - Paris
We start in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower – tickets are included for the second floor. Afterwards, we take a leisurely cruise along the Seine lasting around 1 hour 15 minutes. The afternoon is free for you to explore the city at your own pace – please note the return to the hotel is not included. If queues at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we may reschedule the visit for a different time – or on Sunday – to keep the day running smoothly.
Day 18 - Paris
After breakfast, we conclude our journey in Paris – the tour ends here. You can make your own onward travel arrangements and depart at your convenience. We hope you leave with wonderful memories.
