Day 1 - Frankfurt - Mainz
Your adventure begins with an arrival transfer to the MS Crucevita in Mainz, welcoming you aboard to start your scenic cruise along the Rhine Valley. Check-in officially opens at 4:00 p.m., but don’t worry if you arrive earlier – feel free to leave your luggage at the reception desk while you enjoy a preliminary stroll. This afternoon, we offer an insightful tour of Mainz, depending on when you arrive, giving you a chance to explore this charming city. The evening heralds a warm welcome reception followed by dinner on board. As night falls, we will commence our journey, drifting along the river through the serene night. Please be aware that as part of this tour, travellers might join or leave at various points, although the maximum group size will always be maintained. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Mainz - Mannheim
We'll start our day in Mannheim, an energetic university city where the Rhine and Neckar Rivers meet. This city is notable for its contributions to the automotive industry, being the birthplace of the world’s first two-wheeled vehicle created by Karl Drais in 1817 and Carl Benz’s pioneering automobile in 1886. From Mannheim, we’ll journey to Heidelberg, a city famed for its 14th-century university and a magnificent palace set high on a hill. As the sun sets, we’ll sail onwards, enjoying another serene evening on the water.
Day 3 - Mannheim - Strasbourg
Our third day of the cruise begins with the opportunity to soak up the enchanting atmosphere of Strasbourg, the vibrant capital of the French Alsace region. Renowned as one of Europe's most picturesque cities, Strasbourg is enveloped by captivating landscapes. We'll embark on a morning tour, starting with a scenic drive that sets the stage before we continue on foot to uncover the city's historical core, exploring its most notable landmarks. After lunch, you'll have the freedom to enjoy some leisure time; perhaps wander through the charming streets or, if you wish, head further afield for an optional excursion to Colmar, an iconic village that epitomises the charm of French Alsace. As night descends, we'll continue our journey, sailing through the tranquil night waters.
Day 4 - Strasbourg - Worms - Rudesheim am Rhein
Today, we continue our cruise with a full board included, setting off in the morning to the small but historically significant town of Worms. Known for its impressive cathedral, which is among the most important in the Palatinate region, Worms offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. After our guided city tour, you'll have some free time to explore independently until lunchtime. Once refreshed, we resume our journey, arriving mid-afternoon in the charming town of Rüdesheim am Rhein, where we’ll dock for the night.
Day 5 - Rudesheim am Rhein - Romantic Rhine - Koblenz
Today, we'll embark on a journey through one of Europe's most captivating landscapes as we cruise along the famed Romantic Rhine. This 65-kilometre stretch, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its stunning panoramas, historical importance, and the array of castles, vineyards, and myths that line its banks. Among the legends is the tale of the Lorelei siren, adding a touch of mystique to the scenery. Our voyage will lead us from Rüdesheim to Koblenz, where we will have the opportunity to explore both of these charming cities during the included excursions. As night descends, we'll continue our serene passage along this iconic river.
Day 6 - Koblenz - Cologne
We shall arrive early in Cologne, a major German city with a rich history. Our morning walking tour will guide you through its charming historic centre, culminating at the majestic Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom), the seat of the Archbishopric and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. The afternoon is yours to discover more of Cologne's treasures, perhaps visiting its renowned breweries, bustling shopping streets, and fragrant perfumeries. Alternatively, you might opt for a short trip to nearby Düsseldorf. After dinner, we set sail once again, travelling through the night.
Day 7 - Cologne - Coenhaven - Amsterdam
We will reach Amsterdam in the early afternoon, welcoming us to one of Europe's most lively and distinct cities. Known as the "Venice of the North" due to its extensive network of canals and bridges, Amsterdam beckons with its picturesque streets and vibrant atmosphere. Our included city tour offers the perfect chance to immerse yourself in its charm. Whether you choose to meander along the canals, marvel at the architecture, or simply soak in the unique culture, Amsterdam is sure to captivate. We will stay overnight in this remarkable city.
Day 8 - Amsterdam
After breakfast, it's time to disembark by 9:00 a.m. You will need to vacate your cabin, but you can leave your luggage on board and spend some time in the ship's common areas. Alternatively, take the opportunity to explore more of Amsterdam, soaking up any last sights or sounds of this captivating city before your onward journey.
