Day 1 - Athens - Athina
On arrival at Athens Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred in comfort to your hotel in the city. Athens offers a selection of outstanding hotels, and your accommodation has been carefully chosen to ensure a thoroughly enjoyable stay. You will have the rest of the day at your leisure to settle in and begin to soak up the atmosphere of this historic city. Overnight in Athens.
Day 2 - Athens - Athina
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel before spending the day at your leisure to explore Athens. Whether you choose to visit historic sites, browse local markets, or simply soak up the city’s vibrant atmosphere, the day is yours to discover Athens at your own pace. Overnight in Athens.
Day 3 - Athens - Epidaurus - Nauplion - Mycenae - Olympia - Elis
After breakfast, we set off along the coastal road to the Corinth Canal, where we pause briefly to admire this impressive engineering feat. Continuing on, we visit the Theatre of Epidauros, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Next, we stop in the charming town of Nauplion for a photo opportunity before driving to Mycenae to explore the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. We then journey through the heart of the Peloponnese, passing the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis, before arriving in Olympia. Here, you will spend the night in the birthplace of the Olympic Games, with dinner served at the hotel.
Day 4 - Olympia - Delphi
After breakfast, we visit the Archaeological Site of Olympia, including the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium, and the Archaeological Museum. We then drive through the plains of Elis and Achaia, crossing the impressive Rion-Antirion Bridge over the Corinthian Gulf. Passing the charming towns of Nafpaktos and Itea, we continue on to Delphi. Dinner is served at the hotel, where you will stay overnight.
Day 5 - Delphi - Kalabaka - Kalabaka
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before visiting the Archaeological Site and Museum in Delphi, exploring the rich history and artefacts of this ancient sanctuary. Afterwards, we travel to Kalambaka, a small town nestled at the base of the remarkable Meteora rock formations. Here, towering pillars of stone rise dramatically, setting the stage for tomorrow’s exploration. Dinner and overnight stay are in Kalambaka.
Day 6 - Kalabaka - Athens - Athina
After breakfast, we explore Meteora, a remarkable site where ancient monasteries perch atop towering rock formations, offering a unique glimpse of Byzantine art amid dramatic scenery. Afterwards, we return to Athens, travelling through Trikala, Lamia and making a brief stop at Thermopylae to view the monument dedicated to Leonidas across the road. We arrive in Athens early evening for your overnight stay.
Day 7 - Athens
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Join our expert guide to explore the diverse character of Athens, starting with a brief stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. We then pass the Prime Minister’s residence—formerly the Royal Palace—guarded by the colourful Euzones, before viewing key landmarks including the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma). At the Acropolis, we visit the architectural highlights of Athens’ Golden Age: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, often described as a perfect blend of form and spirit. Finally, we explore the New Acropolis Museum, home to many classical treasures. Please note the museum’s visiting hours may require some flexibility in the itinerary. Overnight in Athens.
Day 8 - Athens - Athina
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to Athens Airport for your departure, timed to suit your flight schedule.
