Itinerary
Day 1 - Aurangabad
On arrival at Aurangabad airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. Standard check–in is from 2 pm – early check–in is subject to availability. After time to freshen up, we begin a city tour.
We visit Bibi Ka Maqbara, a Mughal–era mausoleum built in memory of Aurangzeb’s wife and often compared with the Taj Mahal. We continue to the Aurangabad Caves to see their Buddhist rock–cut sculptures, then the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum for artefacts from the Maratha period. We end at Panchakki, a 17th–century water mill noted for its ingenious hydraulic system and peaceful gardens. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Ajanta Caves Day Trip
Aurangabad – Ajanta – Aurangabad (approx. 104 km – about two hours each way). After breakfast at the hotel, we drive through the countryside to the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Ajanta Caves. On arrival, we join a guided tour of around 30 rock cut Buddhist caves dating from the 2nd century BCE to the 6th century CE, noted for exquisite sculptures, murals and vibrant frescoes depicting scenes from the life of the Buddha and ancient Indian mythology. After an enriching visit, we return to Aurangabad. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Ellora Caves Day Trip & Return to Aurangabad
After breakfast, we set out for the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Ellora Caves to explore their remarkable rock cut temples and monasteries, where Buddhist, Hindu and Jain traditions meet. We then visit Grishneshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, before continuing to Daulatabad Fort to walk its labyrinthine passages and imposing ramparts and take in the surrounding views.Later, we transfer you to Aurangabad airport for your departure flight.
