Day 1 - Kolkata
On arrival at Kolkata airport, meet our representative for assistance and transfer to your hotel; check-in is from 12:00 – early check-in is subject to availability. We then explore the city’s key landmarks, including Fort William, the Victoria Memorial, Netaji Bhawan, Howrah Bridge, the Zoological Gardens and Dakshineswar Kali Temple. Overnight in Kolkata.
Day 2 - Kolkata - Bagdogra - Darjeeling
After breakfast, we continue any Kolkata sightseeing not completed on Day 1, then transfer to the airport for the flight to Bagdogra. On arrival, we meet you with assistance and drive to Darjeeling – around 70 km and approximately two hours. We check in to the hotel on arrival. The rest of the day is free – you can relax and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Darjeeling
An early start – 4.00 a.m. pick up – to reach Tiger Hill for sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga. On the way back we stop at Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop before returning to the hotel for breakfast. Afterwards we visit the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park – closed on Thursday – Tenzing Rock, the Ropeway viewpoint, the Tibetan Refugee Centre – closed on Sunday – an outer view of Happy Valley Tea Garden, and Lloyd Botanical Garden. In the afternoon we enjoy a Toy Train joyride. The evening is free for you to explore the market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Darjeeling - Pelling
Darjeeling – Pelling (75 km – approx. 3 hours). After breakfast, we drive to Pelling and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, we visit Pemayangtse Monastery and the Rabdentse ruins. The remainder of the day is at leisure – you can explore sights of your interest or simply unwind. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 - Pelling - Gangtok - Singtam - Rangpo - Ranipool
After breakfast, we drive 120 kilometres – approximately four hours – from Pelling to Gangtok along NH 31A, passing Temi, Taraku, Singtam, Rangpo and Ranipool. The route runs through forested hills and tea gardens, and we pause en route to sample local Sikkimese tea. On arrival in Gangtok, we check in to the hotel for the night.
Day 6 - Gangtok
After breakfast in Gangtok, we visit Rumtek Monastery – a key centre of Tibetan Buddhism – followed by the Institute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery and Hanuman Tok, a Hindu temple.The rest of the day is free for you to explore any sights that interest you or browse the local market at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 - Gangtok - Kalimpong
After breakfast, we drive 75 km – around 2 hours – from Gangtok to Kalimpong and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon we visit Durpin Monastery, Dr Graham’s Homes, Sherpa View Point, Durga Mandir and Mangal Dham. The remainder of the day is free – you can unwind at the hotel or browse the local market. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 8 - Kalimpong - Bagdogra - Guwahati
After breakfast, we drive 75 km – about 2 hours – from Kalimpong to Bagdogra Airport to board our flight to Guwahati. On arrival, we meet our representative and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, we take a sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 - Guwahati
After breakfast in Guwahati, we visit Kamakhya Temple, Navagraha Temple and Umananda Island – the world’s smallest river island. Later we drive 200 km – around 4 hours – to Kaziranga National Park and check in at the resort. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Overnight at the resort.
Day 10 -
We start early to explore the Central Range of Kaziranga National Park on an elephant safari, then continue by jeep through the Eastern Range. After returning for lunch, we head back out for a jeep safari in the Western Range, making the most of the park’s diverse habitats and wildlife viewing.Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that shelters around two–thirds of the world’s Great One–horned Rhinoceroses. It has the highest density of tigers among protected areas and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. The park also supports large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer, and is recognised by BirdLife International as an Important Bird Area. Set on the edge of the Eastern Himalaya biodiversity hotspot, Kaziranga combines high species diversity with excellent visibility and has achieved notable success in wildlife conservation.Breakfast, lunch and dinner included – overnight at the resort.
Day 11 -
After breakfast at the resort, we drive about 150 kilometres – roughly four hours – to Nimathi Ghat and board a local ferry across the Brahmaputra with fellow passengers. The crossing usually takes a little over an hour, depending on the current. On arrival at Kamalabari Ghat, we continue by road for around 8 kilometres – about 30 minutes – to our lodge.We explore a nearby Mishing village, meet residents and, if you wish, sample tea or local rice beer in a family home. We then visit a local mask maker to learn about their craft. Overnight at a guest house or homestay.
Day 12 - Majuli - Jorhat - Dimapur
Majuli – Jorhat – Dimapur – Benreu After breakfast, we transfer to Kamalabari Ghat – 40 km, about 1 hour – for the ferry crossing to Jorhat. From Jorhat, we board a daytime train to Dimapur. On arrival at Dimapur railway station, we meet our driver and continue by road to Benreu – 97 km, around 3 hours – a Zeliang Naga village. The road is narrow and can be rough in parts; en route we pause briefly at Peleke village. On reaching Benreu, we settle into our homestay, then in the evening we take a stroll through the village and enjoy a bonfire with our host family. Overnight in a homestay or community cottage.
Day 13 -
Benreu After breakfast we ease into the day, meeting local wild animal hunters to hear about their expeditions. We then visit a traditional morung – an informal institute where history, traditions and culture are passed from generation to generation. Later we hike to Mt. Pauna – around 2–3 hours each way – on a route that is roughly half moderate and half tough. We return to the lodge for the night and, in the evening, we join our hosts to help cook a local dinner. Overnight in a homestay or community cottage.
Day 14 -
After breakfast in Benreu, we walk through the village for about 30 minutes to meet our vehicle, then drive around 25 km – roughly 2 hours – to Poilwa, where a local lunch will be served. In the afternoon we hike through the jungle on a mostly flat trail for about 2 hours, aiming to reach Dzuleke before dark. On arrival we check in to our homestay and meet our hosts over a cup of tea. You may take a gentle stroll around the village and, if you wish, chat with your hosts about their community based tourism and conservation work. Overnight at homestay.
Day 15 -
We drive and walk to Khonoma, then explore in and around the village – celebrated as the country’s first green village and long known for its valour, once acting as a vanguard for neighbouring settlements. During our village walk we visit an age‑group house and a morung, and meet local cane basket weavers. We enjoy a picnic lunch either in the buffer zone of KNCTS – Khonoma Nature Conservation & Tragopan Sanctuary – or at the terraced fields, where we cook our own meal. In the afternoon you can opt for a gentle nature walk to learn about herbal plants and edible wild produce, see alder‑based farmland and listen for birds. If you wish, you may help collect wild vegetables and later join your hosts in preparing dinner. Overnight homestay.
Day 16 - Dimapur - Kolkata
After breakfast, we drive from Khonoma to Dimapur airport – a journey of around 95 km that takes approximately 3–4 hours. We then board the flight to Kolkata. On arrival in Kolkata, you connect with your onward flight.
