Day 1 - Dublin
Upon your arrival in Dublin, we will provide a transfer to the hotel, allowing you some time to settle in and relax. Later in the afternoon, you will find essential information regarding the commencement of your tour displayed on boards in the hotel reception area. Spend your initial hours in Dublin as you please, soaking in the unique blend of the city's atmosphere at your own pace. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Dublin
Our day in Dublin begins with a panoramic tour of this tranquil capital city. We explore the serene banks of the River Liffey, enjoy the verdant parks, and wander through the bustling streets of the city centre. Our journey takes us past Trinity College, providing an opportunity to admire its historical exterior. The afternoon is yours to explore Dublin at your own pace. You might choose to visit the local museums, savour traditional Irish fare, or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere of the city. Please note that, depending on our arrival time and the hours of daylight, the tour may occur the previous afternoon to make the most of your visit. Enjoy your evening with Dublin’s unique charm as your backdrop.
Day 3 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
On day three, we'll set out early in the morning to board a ferry, embarking on a scenic three to three-and-a-half-hour journey across the Irish Sea to reach the charming landscapes of Wales. Our first stop is Caernarfon, a coastal town recognised as a World Heritage Site, dominated by its majestic castle. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at your leisure here and take a leisurely stroll around the picturesque surroundings. Following our visit to Caernarfon, we'll continue to the vibrant city of Liverpool. We’ll embark on a brief bus tour to introduce you to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its rich maritime history and as the birthplace of The Beatles. For those interested, there's an opportunity to visit The Beatles Museum, a must for music enthusiasts wishing to delve deeper into the city's cultural heritage.
Day 4 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - London
Today, we will journey through the heart of central England, beginning with a visit to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. You will have free time to savour lunch and explore this quaint town, famous for its rich literary heritage. Later, we'll travel to Oxford, celebrated globally for its historic university, which has educated royalty, statesmen, philosophers, and scientists over centuries. The day concludes as we continue on to London, where we'll arrive in the evening.
Day 5 - London
We begin our day in London with a guided city tour, exploring iconic sites like Westminster, the Houses of Parliament, the City, and along the River Thames. In the afternoon, you're free to discover London at your own pace, but we also offer an optional excursion to Windsor in the Thames Valley, where the charming town is graced by the magnificent Windsor Castle. As evening falls, we regroup at Piccadilly and enjoy a pleasant walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. This area is famed for its dynamic energy, theatres, and entertainment. Please note that on some occasions, this evening walk might be arranged for our first night in London, depending on our arrival time. After our excursion, we’ll return to the hotel by bus.
Day 6 - London
Spend a leisurely day in London, where the city's allure is yours to explore. Whether you choose to wander through its iconic streets, visit renowned attractions, or simply soak up its vibrant atmosphere, this is your opportunity to savour the unique charm and history of the British capital at your own pace.
Day 7 - London - Calais - Amiens - Paris
Today, we leave the vibrant city of London behind as we set off on our continental adventure. Our journey begins with a ferry crossing that takes us to Calais in France, where we'll make a brief stop before continuing to the charming city of Amiens. This city is famed for its stunning Gothic cathedral, a masterpiece of architecture that you can admire as you stroll along its lively narrow streets. While you're here, take the opportunity to explore the unique floating gardens or visit the former residence of the renowned author Jules Verne. As the day draws to a close, we continue our journey to Paris, arriving by the evening, ready to embrace the sights and sounds of this iconic city.
Day 8 - Paris
Today, we'll delve into the fascinating history of France with a visit to the spectacular Palace of Versailles, celebrated for its opulent gardens—please note that admission is not included. After exploring the grandeur of this iconic symbol of royal extravagance, we will return to Paris to discover Montmartre, a quaint area renowned for its bohemian flair, where artists, painters, and cabarets add to its vibrant charm. Our exploration continues with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide, highlighting the city's magnificent avenues and famous landmarks. After this enriching day, we'll make our way back to the hotel. For those interested in rounding off the day with some entertainment, there is an optional variety show in the evening.
Day 9 - Paris
Today we delve into the heart of Paris, beginning with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. You’ll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this renowned iron structure, with tickets included for your convenience. Following this, we will unwind with a leisurely boat cruise along the River Seine, which lasts approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy the vibrant city at your own pace, exploring its many charming corners and attractions. Please note that transport back to the hotel is not provided. In case the queues at the Eiffel Tower are lengthy, we may need to adjust the schedule and visit at a later time or on Sunday to ensure you have a comfortable experience.
Day 10 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we embark on a scenic journey into the heart of France, traversing the renowned Bourgogne region, celebrated for its picturesque vineyards and exquisite wines. Our first stopping point is Beaune, a delightful town at the centre of Burgundy. Here, you'll find charming flower-adorned streets, the historic hospice, and a fascinating wine museum. After some leisure time for lunch and a wander, our journey continues to Lyon. Known as the former capital of Roman Gaul, Lyon is beautifully situated on the banks of the Rhône River. Its historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a glimpse into the city’s past. We'll take a cable car ride to Notre-Dame de Fourvière, offering us a magnificent view of the city. Following this, you'll have some free time to further explore Lyon at your own pace.Please note: On some occasions, part of our group will have an overnight stay in Chambéry, a city close to Lyon. In these instances, we will journey to Chambéry in the evening. In the morning, you will have the opportunity to explore this medieval-style city, the capital of Savoy, known for its beautiful historic centre and its striking castle.
Day 11 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we journey into Switzerland, starting with a visit to Geneva. Upon arrival, we'll drive past the Palace of Nations, home to the United Nations' European headquarters. You'll also have the chance to explore the English Garden, famed for its flower clock, and marvel at the Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, we'll continue through Switzerland, travelling along the picturesque routes by Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. Enjoy the breathtaking Three Lakes region, where you'll see stunning vineyards with a dramatic mountainous backdrop. We'll take a break in Neuch?tel for you to stroll by the lake, delve into the historic town centre, or visit the town's beautiful 10th-century castle. Our day's journey will conclude in Zurich, where we'll arrive in the late afternoon. Note that if passenger numbers necessitate, the segment from Geneva to Zurich may be by train, in which case we will not stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 12 - Zurich
Today, we will explore the vibrant city of Zurich, Switzerland's largest city and a key financial and cultural hub. Twice recognised for offering the highest quality of life globally, Zurich is renowned for its banking centres. We begin with a guided exploration of this dynamic city before embarking on a nearly two-hour scenic cruise on Lake Zurich. As we glide across the tranquil waters, brief stops will allow us to savour the charm of the villages dotted along the lakeside.Our journey includes stopping in the picturesque village of Rapperswil, celebrated for its medieval castle and scenic beauty. We will then return to Zurich by train, offering a firsthand experience of the Swiss railway's precision and reliability. Please note that transport to and from the city centre may involve public transport, depending on the group size.
Day 13 - Zurich
Today promises extraordinary natural beauty with majestic mountains and pristine lakes. We'll venture into the stunning Interlaken region, beginning with a stop in Grindelwald. Enjoy some time for a coffee here before we ascend the mountain via cable car. Once at the top, a winding path leads us to a suspended bridge, providing daring adventurers with breathtaking glacier views. Lunch on the mountain is included before we make our way back down.Our next destination is Lucerne, renowned as one of Switzerland's most picturesque cities. You will have some time to explore its charming streets. The day concludes as we return to Zurich. The guide will offer an optional full-day excursion for those interested. This includes additional time to explore Lucerne before embarking on a rotating cable car to Mount Titlis's summit. Perched over 3,000 metres above sea level, this alpine peak offers spectacular vistas of the glacier and the Alps.As our journey concludes, we hope it leaves you with treasured memories.
