Day 3 - Pisa & Cinque Terre
Florence - Pisa - Cinque Terre - Florence. We're up early and heading to Pisa at 7:30, travelling by train through the scenic Tuscan countryside, characterized by rolling hills and charming villages. On arrival, you'll visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, where the renowned Leaning Tower, Cathedral, and Baptistery are located. Be sure to capture memorable photos, explore the square, and immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of this world-famous destination.
Our journey continues to Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This collection of seaside villages is known for its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant homes perched on rugged cliffs, and crystal-clear waters. While there, enjoy the local culinary specialties - try the renowned fried seafood or savour a refreshing Limoncino, a traditional lemon liqueur exclusive to the region. Wander through the charming streets of Riomaggiore on a guided tour, see the pretty harbour of Manarola and end at the beach in Vernazza (remember a towel and your swimsuit), before we head back to Florence.
Day 4 - Exploring Tuscany & Wine Tasting
Day 4 - Exploring Tuscany & Wine Tasting
Florence - Tuscany - San Gimignano - Florence. Check-out is by 10:00, but we still have a full day of exploring ahead of us. You can store your luggage at the reception. We embark on a scenic drive into the heart of the Tuscan countryside, where rolling hills, olive groves, vineyards, and cypress trees create a stunning backdrop. Visit two picturesque wineries for a tasting of world-class Tuscan wines, such as Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino. Gain insights from local wine experts about the region's unique winemaking traditions and savour truffle-and-herb-infused olive oils. Be sure to try the aged balsamic vinegar, a cherished delicacy in Tuscan cuisine.
After the tastings, head to the medieval hilltop town of San Gimignano, known as the “Manhattan of Tuscany” for its striking towers. Stroll through cobblestone streets, visit local shops, and enjoy panoramic views of the countryside. Indulge in gelato from a famous gelateria before returning to Florence. Our tour ends on arrival back in Florence at around 17:00. There is no accommodation included tonight so you will need to make your own arrangements.
