Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where our guide will meet you to provide all the essential information about your stay. Additional details will also be available on the information board in the hotel reception. This evening, we will visit Via Cavour, a vibrant street offering a variety of dining options including Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine—a perfect introduction to the city’s diverse culinary scene.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll take a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride through the city. You’ll see iconic landmarks such as the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where our guide will offer an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we’ll transfer you to the lively Trastevere neighbourhood, known for its welcoming restaurants and vibrant atmosphere. We’ll return to the hotel by approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today, we leave Rome and head north, taking in the scenic landscapes en route to Florence. Upon arrival, we visit the striking Piazzale Michelangelo, offering panoramic views of the city. From there, we stroll towards the historic centre, where after some time for lunch, we enjoy a guided walking tour with a local expert. Highlights include the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria, each reflecting Florence’s rich artistic and architectural heritage. Afterwards, you’ll have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, you can choose from a wide range of restaurants in the area, offering diverse international cuisines for dinner.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we travel from Florence across the Apennine Mountains, enjoying stunning mountain scenery along the way. On arrival in Venice, we take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to the island itself. With a local guide, we visit the magnificent St. Mark’s Square before touring a Murano glass factory, where you will see traditional glass-making techniques in action. You then have some free time to explore Venice independently. Accommodation is in the Mestre district for convenience.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and cross into Austria, arriving in Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in the Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we travel along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a charming village renowned as a year-round ski resort, where you can take some time to wander. We then continue to Salzburg, arriving in the evening. Depending on the group size, we may travel from Venice to Innsbruck by train.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, we’ll delve deeper into Austria’s charm, starting with a morning exploration of Salzburg—Mozart’s birthplace. We’ll discover the city’s Renaissance and Baroque architecture beneath the imposing castle that overlooks it all. Afterwards, we’ll travel through scenic lakes and mountains to the pilgrimage town of St Wolfgang. Next, we head to Traunkirchen by Lake Traunsee, where we’ll enjoy a boat cruise to admire four of the lake’s castles before disembarking in Gmunden. From there, we continue to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, taking in the city’s grand avenues, exquisite palaces, expansive parks and lively central districts. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll transfer you to the Grinzing district—once a separate wine-growing village, now part of the city—famous for its traditional taverns. You’re free to dine here and soak up the authentic local atmosphere.
Day 8 - Vienna
After breakfast, your journey concludes, allowing you to depart at your leisure with lasting memories of your time in Vienna and beyond.
