Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where your guide will meet you to provide essential information about your stay. Additional details will also be available on the hotel’s information board. In the evening, we will take you to Via Cavour—a vibrant area perfect for an introduction to the city. Here, you’ll find a variety of restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine, offering plenty of choice for dinner.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
This morning, we embark on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, blending a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus tour of the city’s most emblematic sites. We will pass the Arch of Constantine, view the exterior of the Colosseum, the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour will conclude around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City, where we offer an optional guided visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later, we provide a transfer to the lively Trastevere district, known for its charming atmosphere and excellent restaurants, where you can enjoy an evening meal at your leisure. Return to the hotel is scheduled for approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north through scenic landscapes to Florence. On arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, where you’ll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city. From there, we walk towards the historic centre and, after some time for lunch, join a guided tour with a local expert. We explore key landmarks such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria, experiencing Florence’s remarkable heritage as an open-air museum. Afterwards, you have free time to wander the city at your leisure. In the evening, you can choose from many restaurants in the area offering a range of international cuisines.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today we cross the Apennine Mountains, enjoying the striking mountain scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Venice, we take a boat across the Giudecca Canal to reach the island itself. Accompanied by a local guide, we explore the magnificent St Mark’s Square. Afterwards, we visit the Murano Glass Factory to see the traditional glass-making techniques that have been practised here for centuries. You will then have some free time to explore independently. Tonight’s accommodation is in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We depart from Venice and travel to Austria, arriving first in Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in this Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we journey along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbühel, a charming village known for its ski resorts and alpine atmosphere. You’ll have some free time to wander this picturesque town before we continue on to Salzburg, where we arrive by the end of the day. Please note that if the group is small, travel from Venice to Innsbruck may be by train.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today we’ll explore Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart. We’ll discover its Renaissance and Baroque architecture, centred around the imposing fortress that overlooks the city. Then we travel through picturesque lakes and mountains to St Wolfgang, a well-known Austrian pilgrimage site. Continuing to Traunkirchen, on the shores of Lake Traunsee, we’ll take an included boat cruise to admire four of the lake’s castles before arriving in Gmunden. From there, we journey onwards to Vienna, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide, taking in its grand boulevards, elegant palaces, spacious parks and vibrant city centre. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, we’ll transfer you to the Grinzing district, a historic wine-growing village now part of Vienna, known for its traditional taverns. You’ll have time to enjoy dinner here before returning to your accommodation.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
After a journey of around three hours, we’ll arrive in Budapest, Hungary’s vibrant capital. Our first stop is Váci utca, a bustling pedestrian street where you’ll have free time for lunch and to soak up the atmosphere. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy an included boat trip on the Danube River, offering superb views of historic Buda on one side and cosmopolitan Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we’ll take a panoramic tour of Budapest, often called the “Queen of the Danube,” highlighting its key landmarks. You’ll have some free time later to explore as you wish. In the evening, there is an optional outing featuring a traditional Magyar show with dinner included.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We leave Budapest early and travel to Bratislava, the Slovak capital perched on the Danube. This charming city boasts an attractive historic centre where you’ll have time to explore and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we continue to Prague in the Czech Republic, arriving in the evening to settle in for the night.
Day 10 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local guide will lead a panoramic tour of the city’s most notable landmarks, including a visit to Prague Castle, with admission included. Following the castle tour, we’ll enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Vltava River. In the afternoon, you will have free time to discover more of this historic city at your own pace.
Day 11 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We depart early from Prague and travel to Pilsen, a city in western Bohemia famed for its beer heritage. You’ll have time to explore the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-era town hall. Afterwards, we cross into Germany and follow a section of the Romantic Road to visit Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a picturesque town often cited as one of the country’s most beautiful. In the evening, we continue to Frankfurt, the financial hub of Germany. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to explore the historic city centre and choose from a variety of restaurants offering Indian, Asian, Italian, and international cuisine.
Day 12 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we embark on a scenic cruise along the Rhine, sailing between the charming villages of Rüdesheim and St. Goar—widely regarded as the most picturesque stretch of the river. After the cruise, we continue to Cologne, where you will see the city’s landmark: its vast Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Following this, we travel onward to the Netherlands, arriving in Amsterdam in the evening.
Day 13 - Amsterdam
Today we’ll explore some of the Netherlands’ most picturesque locations. We begin at Zaanse Schans, a charming area known for its traditional houses, canals, and iconic windmills. Next, we visit Volendam, a scenic fishing village famous for its waterfront and quaint atmosphere. From Volendam, we take a short boat ride to Marken, formerly an island, now connected to the mainland by a dike. Here, houses traditionally built on stilts reflect the area’s historic response to flooding. In the afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam, visiting highlights including the classic windmill near the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary South District, and the renowned diamond-cutting district at Museum Square. The tour concludes with a walk into the heart of the city, where you’ll have free time to explore Amsterdam’s famous canals, markets, and cafés at your leisure.
Day 14 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel to Belgium’s capital, Brussels, located just over 200 kilometres away. Here, we admire the striking Grand Place, a prime example of Flemish Baroque architecture, and pass by the famous Manneken Pis statue. The city is a blend of rich history, European institutions, and vibrant multicultural life. In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris by the end of the day.
Day 15 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles (entry not included), renowned for its grand architecture and extensive gardens that reflect France’s royal history. Returning to Paris, we explore Montmartre, the bohemian district famed for its artistic heritage, lively cafés, and cabarets. To round off the day, we enjoy a panoramic city tour with a local guide, taking in Paris’s broad avenues and iconic landmarks. We then return to the hotel, with an optional evening variety show available for those who wish to extend their experience.
Day 16 - Paris
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, including access to the second floor (tickets included). Following this, we take a relaxing cruise along the Seine lasting approximately one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a fresh perspective of the city’s landmarks from the water. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your leisure. Please note that transfers back to the hotel are not included. Should there be long wait times at the Eiffel Tower, we may reschedule the visit to a different time or day to ensure your convenience. As the tour concludes, take time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences you’ve enjoyed. Be sure to check your flight details in case an additional night’s accommodation is necessary.
