Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome. Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel where our guide will meet you to provide essential information about your stay. You can also find helpful details on the information board in the hotel reception. This evening, we'll take you to Via Cavour, a lively street offering an excellent introduction to Rome. Here, you can enjoy a wide range of dining options, including Italian, Indian, Chinese and international cuisine.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we embark on a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus ride to see some of the city's most iconic landmarks. We will pass the Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, Circus Maximus, the Baths of Caracalla, the Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant-Angelo. The tour concludes around 11:00 a.m. in Vatican City, where you can choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later, we include a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere district, known for its welcoming restaurants and lively atmosphere, where you can enjoy dinner before returning to the hotel at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today we leave Rome and travel north through the scenic Italian countryside to Florence. Upon arrival, we head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic views over the city. From there, we will walk to the historic centre, pausing for lunch before joining a guided walking tour led by a local expert. We'll visit key landmarks including the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria, immersing ourselves in a city that resembles an open-air museum. After the tour, you will have free time to explore Florence at your own pace. In the evening, there are plenty of dining options in the area, offering a wide range of international cuisine.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
We'll travel across the Apennine Mountains, enjoying the striking scenery en route to Venice. Upon arrival, we'll cross the Giudecca Canal by boat to reach the island of Venice itself. With a local guide, we'll explore the renowned St Mark's Square, taking in its architectural and historical significance. Afterwards, we'll visit a Murano glass factory to observe the traditional glassmaking techniques that have been practised here for centuries. You'll then have some free time to discover Venice at your own pace. Accommodation is arranged in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice and make our way to Austria. On arrival in Innsbruck, you'll have time to explore the historic city centre and enjoy lunch in this Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we'll travel along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbuhel, a charming village renowned for its ski resort and alpine scenery. You'll have some free time to wander here before we continue to Salzburg, arriving by evening. Please note that if the group is small, we may travel by train from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, we will immerse ourselves in the charm of Austria. In the morning, we explore Salzburg - Mozart's birthplace - with its beautifully preserved Renaissance and Baroque architecture centred beneath the imposing fortress. Afterwards, we travel through scenic lakes and mountains to reach St Wolfgang, a well-known pilgrimage site. Next, we visit Traunkirchen on the shores of Lake Traunsee, where we board a cruise to admire four of the lake's castles before disembarking at Gmunden. Our journey then continues to Vienna, where we will arrive in the evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we'll enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide. We'll explore its grand avenues, impressive palaces, expansive parks and vibrant city centre, gaining a comprehensive view of this remarkable city. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to discover Vienna at your own pace. Later, we'll transfer you to the Grinzing district, a historic wine-growing area now part of the city, renowned for its traditional taverns. You'll have time to enjoy dinner here before returning to your accommodation.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
After approximately three hours on the road, we arrive in Budapest, Hungary's vibrant capital. Our first stop is the lively Vuci utca, where you'll have free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, we embark on an included boat trip along the Danube River, offering striking views of historic Buda on one side and the bustling, cosmopolitan Pest on the other. Following the cruise, we continue with a panoramic tour of Budapest, often called the "Queen of the Danube." You will then have some free time to explore independently. In the evening, there is an optional outing to a traditional Magyar show, which includes dinner.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
We depart Budapest early and travel to Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, perched on the Danube with a charming historic centre. You'll have time to explore the city and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Later, we continue to Prague in the Czech Republic, arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, we provide a transfer to the Old Town Square, a lively hub that offers an excellent introduction to Prague with its vibrant atmosphere and wide range of dining options. You can choose from various international cuisines, including Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 10 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. Our local guide will lead a panoramic tour of the city's most significant landmarks, including a visit to Prague Castle, with admission included. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Vltava River, giving you a unique perspective of the city's skyline. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to discover Prague at your own pace.
Day 11 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We'll depart early from Prague and head to Pilsen in western Bohemia, a city famed for its beer heritage. You'll have time to explore the historic centre, including the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance-era town hall. Afterwards, we'll cross into Germany and follow part of the Romantic Road, visiting Rothenburg, a picturesque town often described as one of the country's most beautiful. We'll continue to Frankfurt, Germany's financial hub. Upon arrival in the evening, you'll have free time to enjoy the vibrant city centre, where a variety of restaurants offer Indian, Asian, Italian and international cuisine.
Day 12 - Frankfurt - Cologne - Amsterdam
Today, we'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the most picturesque stretch of the Rhine River, between the charming villages of Rudesheim and St. Goar. Afterwards, we'll travel to Cologne, famous for its impressive Gothic cathedral that dominates the city skyline. Following our visit, we'll continue on to Holland, arriving in Amsterdam by the evening.
Day 13 - Amsterdam
Today we'll explore some of Holland's most picturesque spots. We begin at Zaanse Schans, known for its charming houses, canals and iconic windmills. Next, we head to Volendam, a scenic fishing village with a rich maritime heritage. From there, we take a short boat ride to Marken, once an island and now linked to the mainland by a dike, famous for its traditional stilt houses designed to protect against flooding. In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a guided tour of Amsterdam, visiting highlights including a classic windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the modern South District, and the diamond-cutting tradition at Museum Square. We end the tour with a walk into the city centre, where you'll have free time to explore Amsterdam's renowned canals, markets and cafes at your leisure.
Day 14 - Amsterdam
After breakfast, our tour concludes, and you will have time to reflect on the unforgettable experiences gathered throughout your journey. We will arrange your transfer to the airport or your next destination as needed.
