Itinerary
Day 1 - Verona
Upon arrival in Verona, make your own way to the hotel and check in (an optional transfer service is available). At 15.30, join a hands-on gelato-making class led by a local chef in a cosy kitchen setting. You will learn how to prepare authentic Italian gelato from scratch, including selecting the best seasonal ingredients and mastering techniques such as churning and egg pasteurisation. Alongside gelato, you will also create a traditional semifreddo—a frozen dessert made with fresh fruit and cream. Once completed, enjoy tasting your homemade creations. Recipes will be provided so you can recreate these treats at home. Overnight in Verona.
Day 2 - Verona
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin with an express tour of Verona’s iconic Arena, the remarkable Roman amphitheatre. With your priority ticket, join a local guide who will lead you through this historic site, sharing insights into its construction, ancient uses, and the legends that surround it. Walk beneath the original marble arcades and hear tales of gladiators and Roman games once held here. Admire the preserved ‘Ala’—the sole remaining section of the outer third circle—and discover intriguing facts about the Arena’s long and resilient history. Having survived a 12th-century earthquake, the amphitheatre remains a beloved open-air opera venue, renowned for its exceptional acoustics and heritage. We then return to the hotel for your overnight stay in Verona.
Day 3 - Verona - Sirmione - Verona
After breakfast, we meet in Verona city centre and travel by comfortable van to Lake Garda. Our destination is Sirmione, a picturesque medieval village renowned for its clear waters, impressive castle and flower-filled palaces. We take a boat tour around the Sirmione peninsula, admiring elegant villas, the surrounding landscape and the remains of the Grotte di Catullo – an ancient Roman villa at the tip of the village. Afterwards, we explore the village on foot with a local guide, wandering its cobbled streets and learning about its rich history and culture. You then have some free time to shop or relax by the lake. Sirmione is also famous for its excellent gelato, so be sure to sample some before we return to Verona for the night.
Day 4 - Verona
After breakfast, enjoy a final stroll through Verona to soak up the atmosphere or pick up any last-minute souvenirs. When you’re ready, transfer to the airport or train station is available as an optional extra to suit your onward travel plans.
