Day 1 - Arrival in Nairobi
Once you have arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation in Nairobi.
Please note: it is best to change money at the airport, before going through passport control. visa fees are best paid in cash US dollars.
Day 2 - Elephants and Giraffes in Nairobi

After breakfast at your accommodation, your driver is available to you for the full day's excursions around Nairobi. At the David Sheldrick Orphanage, you learn about the rearing of orphaned baby elephants, before heading to the Giraffe Centre to meet the endangered Rothschild giraffes and hand feed them.Lunch can be taken at a restaurant in the Karen area at your own expense. In the afternoon, you visit the Kazuri beads factory, known for its handmade necklaces and pottery, with the chance to pick up a souvenir before being dropped back at your accommodation.
Day 3 - Into Sweetwaters Private Game Sanctuary

After an early breakfast, you depart for Sweetwaters Private Game Sanctuary, driving past the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya en route. You arrive in time for lunch, followed by your first game drive of the trip, where elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and waterbuck can all be seen.Your accommodation for the next two nights sits near the Aberdare Mountain Range, and with clear skies you may catch a cloud-free view of Mount Kenya. During your stay, there is also the opportunity to visit, and possibly stroke, the resident rhino known as Max. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at the camp today.
Day 4 - Chimpanzees and Game Drives at Sweetwaters
Today is spent entirely within Sweetwaters, with a short walk bringing you to a riverbank where you can watch the sanctuary's resident chimpanzees on their island opposite, the only place in Kenya where these primates can be observed. Game drives are unlimited today, so you can choose the number and length of drives that suit you and your children. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at the camp.
Day 5 - Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, following a route along the Aberdare Mountain Range with a stop at Thompson Waterfalls. Travellers often see the tribal dance of the Kikuyu, Kenya's largest ethnic group, during this stop.You arrive at your accommodation in time for lunch, then spend the rest of the day on an extended game drive through Lake Nakuru National Park, searching for lion and leopard and taking in the view over the lake from Baboon Cliff. Dinner is included this evening.
Day 6 - Flamingoes and Game Drives at Lake Nakuru

Today brings further game drives across Lake Nakuru National Park, along with a visit to the Makalia Waterfalls. Nakuru is known for its thousands of flamingoes, which colour the lake pink. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at your accommodation.
Day 7 - Arrival in the Masai Mara

After breakfast, you depart Lake Nakuru National Park for the Masai Mara Game Reserve, arriving in time for a late lunch. This will be your base for game drives and activities over the coming days, with an afternoon game drive offering your first opportunity to spot some of the Big Five. In the evening, you can listen to stories around the campfire under the night sky, with dinner included.
Day 8 - Wildebeest Migration and a Maasai Village

Today, you have the option of joining a hot air balloon safari over the reserve at an additional cost. Game drives are otherwise unlimited today, and between July and November the great wildebeest migration passes through, giving the chance to witness thousands of wildebeest and zebra attempting to cross the Mara River.You also visit a Maasai village to meet the local community, where children can spend time making Maasai beaded necklaces or a bow and arrow while you have some time to yourselves. You might head out with a packed breakfast and stay out for the morning, or take a picnic lunch into the park while waiting by the river for a crossing. Dinner is included back at your accommodation this evening.
Day 9 - A Second Day in the Masai Mara

Today brings a second day of unlimited game drives across the reserve, with further chances to spot resident wildlife. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at your accommodation.
Day 10 - Return to Nairobi
After a final early morning game drive and breakfast at your accommodation, you leave the Masai Mara and head back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon at around 4 pm. From here, you are transferred to the airport for your international flight, or you can continue on with a beach extension to Kenya's North or South Coast. A packed lunch is provided for the journey.
