Set off from Nairobi on a two day safari to Solio Ranch, a renowned rhino sanctuary in Laikipia, before returning to Nairobi. Settle into a cosy lodge with sweeping views towards Mount Kenya, then head out on afternoon and morning game drives. Expect to see large numbers of black and white rhinos, along with buffalo, giraffe, zebra, impala, warthog and plentiful birdlife – with chances of spotting lion, leopard or hyena. Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi to Solio Ranch & Game Drive
Nairobi - Solio Ranch. After breakfast, we collect you from your Nairobi hotel and drive north to Solio Ranch in the greater Laikipia Region, north of Nyeri in Kenya’s Central Province – a journey of 180 kilometres. On arrival, we settle in and have lunch at our lodge on the edge of the game reserve, while taking in the panoramic views. In the afternoon, we head out on a game drive to look for rhinoceros and other wildlife, including buffalo, giraffe, zebra, impala, Thomson’s gazelle and warthog. We return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Game Drives & Return to Nairobi
Solio Ranch - Nairobi. After a relaxed breakfast at the lodge with views of the surrounding hills and snowcapped Mount Kenya, we head out on a morning game drive in Solio Ranch. Look out for leopard, lion and hyena, and track the reserve’s black and white rhinos alongside numerous bird species. As lunchtime approaches, we return to the lodge for lunch, then begin the journey back to Nairobi – arriving late in the evening – where we’ll drop you at your hotel or the airport.
