Maltese Islands Discovery Walk
New
Start in St Julian’s and finish in Victoria on Gozo – an eight day walking adventure that blends coastlines, culture and island charm. You’ll explore Malta’s wild south east with cliff paths, sandy coves and views to Comino and Gozo; stroll Valletta’s UNESCO listed waterfronts and harbours; and follow the shore towards Marsaxlokk’s famed Sunday fish market. A scenic ferry hops you to Gozo, where farm tracks lead to Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, Gharb’s baroque church and the salt pans, plus Wardija Point, Fungus Rock and the Inland Sea. Itinerary
Day 1 - St Julian's
Arrive in the quieter area of St Julian’s and check in to Hotel Holms or The Waterfront Hotel, both four–star. We provide a suggested plan for each island – you are free to choose when and where you walk each day.
Day 2 - Malta
We explore Malta’s ‘fish tail’, with breathtaking cliffs, beautiful beaches and sweeping views to Comino and Gozo. You can opt for a shorter walk.
Day 3 - Valletta
We follow an impressive coastal walk around Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage city, with striking views over its natural harbours. You can choose a shorter option.
Day 4 - Marsascala - Marsaxlokk
We trace dramatic sandstone cliffs and magnificent sea views between Marsascala and Marsaxlokk Bay, famous for its Sunday fish market. You can opt for a shorter walk.
Day 5 - Gozo - Victoria - Gharb
We take a morning taxi to the ferry port and cross to Gozo – ferry ticket included – where a taxi brings us to our hotel in Victoria for the next three nights. On arrival you can relax or explore Victoria, or you can take an optional walk to the neo Romanesque Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary, finishing in Gharb, along easy farm tracks through ravine–like wieds to a Baroque church dating from 1699 and traditional stone houses, then along the north–coast cliffs with views over Gozo’s famous salt pans. Duke Hotel in Victoria – four–star – breakfast included. You can also opt for a shorter route.
Day 6 - Gozo
We head to Gozo’s west coast and the Punic burial site at Wardija Point, with a mythical edge–of–the–world feel. Narrow stone–walled lanes lead to bamboo groves and to Fungus Rock, the former site of the Azure Window, and the Inland Sea.
Day 7 - Qala - Nadur
We begin in Qala and stroll to Dahlet Qorrot, a tiny harbour with brightly coloured boat houses, then continue through lemon groves and vineyards, past fig and peach trees, to San Blas Bay with its ochre–coloured sand, finishing in Nadur for spectacular views to round off the week.
Day 8 - Victoria
We depart Victoria after breakfast.
