Day 1 - Marrakech
Upon your arrival in Marrakech, welcome to the vibrant heart of Morocco. We will ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel, where you can settle in and prepare for the day's experiences. In the afternoon, we invite you to step into a world of tradition with a delightful horse-drawn carriage ride, whisking you to the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. This bustling hub is known for its energetic atmosphere, filled with performers, food stalls, and vibrant market life. Dinner this evening is arranged for you, offering a taste of local cuisine. Enjoy your first night in this enchanting city. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Marrakech
On day two, we will delve into the heart of Marrakech, a city teeming with history and allure. Our guided exploration will take us through its mighty city walls, leading to the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square, known for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of entertainers. We'll wander through the historic Medina, discovering the intricate beauty of the Koutoubia Mosque and the opulent Bahia Palace, with entry fees already arranged. After our tour, you will have free time to enjoy an included lunch, perhaps relaxing by the hotel's pool or garden, or venturing into the colourful souks for a spot of shopping. In the evening, there's the option to experience the Fantasy Party, an excursion that offers a unique glimpse into Moroccan entertainment – a lovely way to cap off your day in this captivating city.
Day 3 - Marrakech - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
Today, we embark on a journey across the impressive Atlas Mountains, where the peaks, often dusted with snow, bid us farewell as we depart the lush palm groves of Marrakech. As we travel, you'll observe quaint Berber villages nestled against the dramatic cliffs of deep gorges. A highlight of our day is a visit to the renowned fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, celebrated for its role in numerous films. Our route takes us through landscapes evocative of biblical times, and we’ll pause in Ouarzazate, famed for its majestic Kasbah. Continuing through the charming Valley of Roses, we arrive in Boumalne Dades, where dinner is included. Please be aware that during winter, road closures due to snow may necessitate adjustments to our itinerary. Access to the Sahara Desert will depend on road conditions.
Day 4 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
Today, we embark on an exhilarating adventure through the enchanting landscapes of the Sahara Desert. Our journey will take us through the Valley of the Kasbahs, where river valleys are fringed with lush palm groves, and rocky plains seamlessly blend into vibrant oases and quaint adobe villages. Along the way, commanding fortresses stand guard over these ancient routes, offering a glimpse into a storied past. Our itinerary includes a visit to the breathtaking Todgha Gorge, renowned for its majestic canyon walls rising over 100 metres on either side. As we continue, we'll make a stop in a small adobe town near Khorbat, providing an opportunity to discover the local desert community. Do note that access may be dependent on weather conditions, such as potential river flooding. Our journey will proceed towards Erfoud, where lunch will be provided. For those inclined, you may opt for an off-road adventure to witness the awe-inspiring sight of the Sahara Desert sand dunes at sunset – a truly memorable experience.
Day 5 - Erfoud - Fes
On the fifth day of our adventure, we begin our journey early from Erfoud, heading once more across the Atlas Mountains. The route takes us through stunning gorges and breathtaking landscapes, leading onto a high, chilly plateau where nomadic shepherds make their home. Our first stop is the commercial town of Midelt, situated at the heart of this agricultural region. Continuing our journey, we pause for an included lunch in the picturesque Middle Atlas, beside a lake, surrounded by nature's beauty. As we journey onwards, the scenery transforms into forest-rich landscapes where, in winter, snow can often be found blanketing the trees. Near the town of Azrou, we’ll visit the "House of Cedars" within a national park. This small museum offers a glimpse into the area's rich ecology, and provides opportunities to see lively colonies of monkeys that inhabit the park.We then proceed to Bhalil, a tranquil Berber town of the Middle Atlas, known for its quaint old streets adorned with vibrant colours. Traditionally, many residents lived in caves, now seamlessly integrated into the architecture of their homes. Our journey concludes for the day in Fez, where we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the ancient city from the Marinid Tombs before heading to our hotel. Dinner will be included as we settle in for the evening.
Day 6 - Fes - Tangier
On the sixth day of our journey, we delve into the captivating city of Fez, entering through the majestic Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace. We'll explore the vibrant Jewish quarter, bustling souks, and the intriguing Tanners’ Quarter. Fez, the cultural heart of Morocco, is famed for its remarkable Medina, which authentically preserves the essence of an ancient Arab city. We'll immerse ourselves in this unique atmosphere before enjoying a delightful lunch at a historic palace nestled within the Medina. In the afternoon, we set off northward, traversing Morocco's modern highways to reach Tangier by evening. Dinner is included, allowing us to unwind and reflect on the day’s discoveries.
Day 7 - Tangier
Following breakfast, your Moroccan adventure draws to a close. Reflect on the incredible experiences and lasting memories you've gathered throughout your journey.
