Kick off with a city tour taking in Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, then wander the old quarters of Alfama and Rossio. There’s ample leisure to linger by the Tagus, sample local cuisine and perhaps hear soulful Fado. A half day jaunt to Sintra brings misty forests, storybook palaces and the National Palace. Day 1 - Lisbon
On arrival at Lisbon airport, we meet you at the arrivals hall and drive you to your city hotel, then assist with check in. If you feel tired after the flight, you can unwind and make use of the hotel’s facilities – if you would rather start exploring, you can wander the charming streets and ease into the city’s unique rhythm and culture. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 2 - Lisbon
After breakfast, we set off on a half day tour of Lisbon. The tour starts at 9:00 am from Marquês de Pombal Square – please make your own way there and arrive at least 15 minutes early. We view Jerónimos Monastery (entrance not included), admire the riverside Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, and stroll through Alfama and the Rossio district to trace the city’s layered past. After this four hour tour, we return to the hotel and you have the afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 3 - Lisbon
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then you have a full day at leisure in this delightful city. You can stroll to the waterfront for views over the Tagus, sample local dishes to tempt your palate, and wander the cosy streets to soak up the romantic atmosphere. In the evening, you could seek out Fado – the traditional song – in a restaurant or bar. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 4 - Lisbon - Sintra
After breakfast, you have a free morning, then we set out on a guided half day tour to Sintra, a royal town and UNESCO World Heritage site. The tour starts at 14:30 from Marquês de Pombal Square – please make your own way there 15 minutes in advance. We discover palaces and castles nestled in forested hills and walk the narrow streets around the National Palace of Sintra, where royalty of the 15th and 16th centuries spent summer months. On returning to Lisbon at around 19:00, you have the evening at leisure – perhaps try more local flavours or enjoy a relaxed stroll through the city’s cosy lanes. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 5 - Lisbon
After breakfast, you have the day at leisure to follow your own interests – revisit a favourite neighbourhood, linger in a café or browse shops at your own pace. Overnight in Lisbon.
Day 6 - Lisbon
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and we collect you from reception at the agreed time for your transfer to the airport.

'Single' prices are applicable to anyone wanting the privacy of their own room. 'Triple' prices are per person when there are 3 people on the same booking sharing a room. 'Shared' prices are for solo travellers who are happy to share with another solo traveller of the same sex in a twin room - a single room will be provided at no additional cost if there are no suitable travellers to share with.
