Itinerary
Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid. Upon arrival at the airport, we will transfer you directly to your hotel. You will have some free time to settle in before the tour begins. Please check the information boards in the hotel reception for details about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening, we will transfer you to Plaza Mayor and La Latina, Madrid’s most renowned areas for nightlife and tapas. You may choose to dine at a restaurant of your preference, with options including Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisine.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Madrid
We begin the day with a guided tour of central Madrid, taking in key sights such as Paseo del Prado, the iconic Cibeles and Neptuno fountains, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. We then visit Retiro Park, a peaceful green space at the city’s heart, where we’ll see the lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal. Following this, admission is included for a visit to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home to Real Madrid football club. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure, with a return transfer to the hotel provided in the evening.
Day 3 - Madrid - Granada
We depart Madrid early, travelling south through the La Mancha region. Our first stop is the quaint village of Puerto Lápice, known for its connections to Don Quixote. Continuing into Andalusia via the Despeñaperros Pass, we arrive in Granada in time for an included lunch. In the afternoon, those who have chosen the optional tour will visit the Alhambra Palace and its stunning Generalife Gardens with a local guide. These remarkable sites date back to the Arab period and offer a unique glimpse into Spain’s history. Please note that Alhambra entry is strictly limited by law—tickets are issued upon booking, so accurate personal details are essential. If, on rare occasions, access to the Alhambra is unavailable, we will instead explore the Royal Alcázar of Seville, which offers comparable historical and architectural interest.
Day 4 - Granada - Nerja - Malaga - Ronda - Seville
We begin by leaving the Sierra Nevada mountain range behind, travelling along the Mediterranean coastline known as the Tropical Coast—renowned for its mild year-round climate that supports the cultivation of tropical fruits like guavas, mangoes, and avocados, as well as sugar cane historically. Our first stop is Nerja, a delightful seaside town famed for its dramatic cliffs. From there, we continue to Málaga, the vibrant capital of the Costa del Sol, where you’ll have time for lunch and a leisurely walk around the beautiful historic centre. In the afternoon, we venture into the Andalusian sierras to visit Ronda, an iconic white town split by a deep, dramatic gorge. Our day concludes with our arrival in Seville by late afternoon, followed by dinner included at the hotel.
Day 5 - Seville
In the morning, we set off on a guided tour of Seville, exploring the city’s highlights including the magnificent cathedral with its iconic Giralda tower, the picturesque banks of the Guadalquivir River, and the vibrant neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. Following the tour, we enjoy a leisurely boat ride along the Guadalquivir, providing striking panoramic views of the city. In the evening, you have the option to experience an authentic flamenco show at a renowned tablao.
Day 6 - Seville - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid
We leave Seville and follow the Guadalquivir Valley to Córdoba, once the capital of the Islamic Caliphate. With a local guide, we visit the remarkable Mosque–Cathedral, included in your tour, and explore the atmospheric Jewish Quarter, known for its narrow streets and vibrant patios—distinctive features of the city. After lunch, we continue towards Castilian lands, stopping in Consuegra to see its 12 iconic windmills overlooking the La Mancha plain. Here, we tour the Rucio Mill before making our way back to Madrid to conclude the day.
Day 7 - Madrid
After breakfast, the tour concludes, leaving you free to enjoy your remaining time in Madrid at your leisure or prepare for your onward journey. We hope you take with you many lasting memories from this experience.
