Day 1 - Stockholm
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in Stockholm, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. Once settled, you’ll have some free time to begin exploring this charming city at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, you can find important information regarding the start of your exciting journey displayed on the notice boards located at the hotel reception. Enjoy your first day in Stockholm, a city that beautifully intertwines nature and urban life, setting the scene for a remarkable adventure ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Stockholm - Mora
Following breakfast, we will embark on a guided city tour of Stockholm, a picturesque capital spread across 14 islands, with water playing a central role in its charm. Our exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the colourful and lively old town known as the "City between the Bridges". Here, you'll have the chance to observe grand landmarks such as the Nobel Museum near Stortorget—the Main Square that commemorates the Nobel Prize laureates—the magnificent Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. For panoramic views, we will visit Fjällgatan, a viewpoint offering splendid vistas. After the tour, you'll have some leisure time to explore at your own pace. At approximately 16:00, we will set off towards the northwest of Sweden, travelling through scenic landscapes that feature rolling hills, agricultural fields, quaint villages, and serene lakes. Our destination for the evening is Mora, a charming small town nestled between two lakes. This historic locale is notable for being a place where Gustav I of Sweden rallied support against Danish invaders back in 1521. Expect to arrive in Mora by the evening, ready to embrace its rich history and tranquil surroundings.
Day 3 - Mora - Funäsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
We set off early, journeying through the enchanting landscape towards Norway. You'll be captivated by lush forests, shimmering lakes, and majestic mountains along the way. Our first stop is Funäsdalen, a delightful ski resort, perfect for a brief exploration. We then continue on to Røros, a historic mining town beautifully preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll have time for lunch and a chance to wander through the charming town centre, where the old miners' houses and a dedicated museum to the town's foundry await your discovery.Our travels then lead us to Trondheim, nestled in Norway's central coastal region. Once the capital during the Middle Ages, this thriving city is steeped in Viking history. Notable sites include the city's magnificent 11th-century cathedral and the iconic old bridge spanning the canal. As twilight falls, Trondheim offers a vibrant nightlife and an array of dining options for you to explore at your leisure.
Day 4 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today, you'll begin by exploring Trondheim’s vibrant city centre. After taking in its charm, we'll continue our journey, soaking in the dramatic coastal and fjord landscapes along the Norwegian Sea. Our travels will include a ferry crossing over a stunning fjord before reaching Kristiansund. Known for its picturesque natural settings, Kristiansund is a distinctive city set across several islands, all interconnected by bridges and embankments. Traditionally a fishing centre, the city features quaint cobblestone streets lined with shops, eateries, and cafes. You'll have the opportunity to wander around and savour lunch here. Later, we'll set off through scenic vistas to visit the historic Kvernes Stave Church, a beautiful 14th-century structure where you can admire a 300-year-old ship model and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Our route then leads us to the acclaimed Atlantic Road, renowned for its breathtaking beauty along the ocean. This remarkable drive spans eight bridges that connect a series of islands, offering a chance to marvel at the dramatic scenery, particularly when the ocean's waves crash against the coast. We'll pause at a viewpoint to fully appreciate the views before progressing to Molde, a lively town beautifully situated by its fjord, where we'll arrive by evening.
Day 5 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
On our fifth day, prepare to be mesmerised by Norway's breathtaking natural beauty—this day is all about exploring World Heritage fjords, majestic glaciers, and charming towns. We'll start our day with a scenic 50-minute ferry ride across the Romsdal Fjord, taking in the stunning landscapes that surround us. From there, we ascend into the snow-capped mountains before making our way down towards the picturesque Storfjorden. Another ferry crossing, lasting 30 minutes, will navigate through towering snow-capped peaks en route to the Eagle Viewpoint. This location offers one of the most spectacular vistas of the Geiranger Fjord, renowned worldwide for its mesmerising beauty.Upon reaching Geiranger, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you'll have free time to explore the village. Whether you choose to enjoy a boat ride along the fjord, meander beside the cascading waterfalls, or simply relax in the quaint village setting, this area is truly a gem. Following lunch, our adventure continues through dramatic mountain and fjord landscapes until we arrive at Briksdalsbreen—an awe-inspiring glacier nestled in remarkable surroundings. There, you'll have the option to hike up to the glacier on foot or take an electric vehicle for a more leisurely approach. Dinner is included this evening in the charming town of Loen, situated by the fjord. In Loen, you might wish to experience the excitement of riding one of the world's steepest cable cars, which ascends from the fjord to over 1,000 metres above sea level.
Day 6 - Loen - Bergen
We embark on our journey early, covering nearly 300 kilometres of Norway's stunning landscapes en route to Bergen. Our path will take us along picturesque fjord shores and over majestic mountains, complemented by a scenic ferry ride. We anticipate our arrival in Bergen around lunchtime, perfectly timed for an arranged cable car ride up to Fløyen Mountain. From here, enjoy breathtaking views of the city below. Once you’ve taken in the panorama, you’ll have free time to explore Norway’s second-largest city at your own pace. Famous for its rich history and vibrant cultural scene, Bergen is surrounded by remarkable natural beauty. Wander through Bryggen, the historic dock area with its iconic, colourful wooden buildings, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, you might opt to visit the fascinating Aquarium or the vibrant fish market, bustling with small restaurants offering local delicacies.
Day 7 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We depart Bergen early, heading deep into Norway's stunning landscapes. Our route takes us over the impressive suspension bridge spanning the Hardanger Fjord, which is renowned for its breathtaking scenery. Our first stop is Eidfjord, a picturesque town on the fjord's edge, offering a charming glimpse into local life.Next, we visit Vøringsfossen, celebrated as Norway's most spectacular waterfall, plunging a dramatic 182 metres. Here, we’ll take time to explore the various vantage points and bridges, allowing us to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring views.Continuing our journey, we traverse through starkly beautiful high plateaus, characterised by small lakes—often frozen and surrounded by snowfields for much of the year. We break for lunch in Geilo, a well-regarded ski resort town that provides a cosy contrast to the desolate beauty of our surroundings.After lunch, we make our way towards Oslo, arriving by evening. Once in the capital, we suggest exploring the vibrant city centre, wandering the historic harbour, or enjoying panoramic views from the rooftop terrace of the modern Opera House.
Day 8 - Oslo
In the morning, we will embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, Norway's vibrant capital, renowned for its breathtaking scenery and its reputation as Europe's green capital. Accompanied by a local guide, we will drive past the Royal Palace and make a stop at Vigeland Park, famous for its striking sculpture collection. We'll also admire the exteriors of notable landmarks like the Town Hall, the historic old port, and the contemporary Opera House. After the tour, you might choose to visit one of Oslo's acclaimed museums—the Munch Museum is a particularly intriguing option. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace.
Day 9 - Oslo
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast as we conclude our splendid adventure. With a wealth of unforgettable memories from your travels, it's time to bid farewell to Oslo.
