Day 1 - Washington DC
Upon arrival in Washington, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can enjoy some free time to relax and settle in. In the afternoon, we will provide important information about the start of your tour either through briefings or the information displays at the hotel reception. Later, we will whisk you away to Georgetown, Washington's vibrant and bustling district known for its lively bars and restaurants. After experiencing the city's energetic nightlife, you'll return to your accommodation for a restful evening. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Washington DC
Following an energizing breakfast, we set off to explore Washington, D.C.'s iconic sights. Our journey begins with a drive past the Pentagon as we head towards Virginia, where we'll pause for photographs at the poignant Iwo Jima Memorial. Back in Washington, D.C., we will visit the stirring Lincoln, Korean, and Vietnam Memorials. Our tour continues with a visit to the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well as a photo opportunity at the White House. We then circle the Capitol before concluding our morning in the museum district, an area teeming with culture and history.In the afternoon, we embark on a scenic boat trip along the Potomac River, offering a unique perspective of the city's historic landmarks. This leisurely cruise beautifully highlights the city's architectural splendours. Please note that this boat trip is unavailable from October through March due to weather conditions. Following our river excursion, we return to the hotel to relax before the optional evening activity. Tonight, you may wish to take an enchanting night-time tour of Washington, D.C., offering another chance to see the city's monuments grandly illuminated. We then return to our accommodation, concluding an inspiring day in the nation's capital.
Day 3 - Washington DC - Lancaster - New York
After breakfast, we set off from Washington for Lancaster, home to the iconic Amish farms. As we journey through this area, you'll have a fascinating glimpse into the Amish way of life, which remains much as it was in the 18th century. We'll pause en route for lunch, giving you a chance to enjoy the local atmosphere. Our travels then take us onwards to New York, where we are scheduled to arrive by the afternoon.
Day 4 - New York
After breakfast, we embark on a panoramic exploration of New York City, covering the vibrant districts of Upper, Mid, and Lower Manhattan. We will experience the bustling atmosphere of Wall Street, marvel at the grandeur of Rockefeller Center, and admire the neo-Gothic architecture of St Patrick’s Cathedral. Our journey takes us through the serene beauty of Central Park and the dynamic hustle of Columbus Circle, where the towering AOL/Time Warner Building stands. We'll delve into the cultural richness of Greenwich Village and Little Italy, and visit Battery Park for a striking view of the iconic Statue of Liberty. In the evening, we provide a transfer to the dazzling Times Square, the pulsating centre of the city known for the bright lights of Broadway. Please note that if your confirmed hotel is located in the Times Square area, additional transfers are not necessary.
Day 5 - New York - Boston
Today, we embark on our journey to historic Boston, Massachusetts, known for its pivotal role in America's quest for independence. We arrive by midday and begin a panoramic tour of the city, exploring the charming streets of Beacon Hill, the prestigious grounds of Harvard University, and the serene gardens of Boston Common. We'll also admire the architectural beauty of Trinity Church. Our tour concludes at Quincy Market, a vibrant area by the docks bustling with shops and eateries, where you'll have leisure time to explore at your own pace. Later, we'll return to the hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 6 - Boston - Woodstock - Montreal
After breakfast, we journey through the picturesque landscapes of New Hampshire and Vermont, renowned for their stunning natural beauty. Along the way, we pause in Woodstock, Vermont, a charming town celebrated for its beautifully restored Georgian houses. Following our stop, we continue our journey across the Canadian border, arriving in the vibrant city of Montreal. Here, you will settle into your accommodation, ready to explore the rich cultural tapestry of the city.
Day 7 - Montreal - Quebec
Following breakfast, we embark on a panoramic exploration of Montreal. Our tour includes stops at the stunning Parc Mont Royal, the revered St. Joseph’s Oratory, and the impressive Cathedral. After soaking in the vibrant cityscapes and cultural landmarks, we pause for lunch. Post-lunch, we set off for Quebec City, a delightful journey through picturesque landscapes, arriving just in time to settle into our accommodation and prepare for further adventure.
Day 8 - Quebec
After breakfast, we will take you on a panoramic tour of Quebec City, showcasing some of its most significant landmarks, including the imposing Chateaux Frontenac, the historic Place Royale, the revered Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, and the iconic Citadelle. The afternoon is yours to explore as you wish – we recommend visiting the stunning Montmorency Falls, a natural wonder just a short distance from the city. Enjoy the freedom to uncover more of Quebec's unique charm at your leisure.
