Expect to see Ottawa’s Parliament, cruise the Thousand Islands and dip into Toronto’s lively neighbourhoods, before a flight whisks you west. Day 1 - New York
Welcome to New York – on arrival we arrange your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free, so you can settle in at your own pace. During the afternoon we will provide information about the start of your tour, or you can check the information panels at hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - New York
After breakfast, we set off on a panoramic tour of New York, taking in Upper, Midtown and Lower Manhattan. We visit Wall Street, Rockefeller Center, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Central Park, Columbus Circle and the AOL/Time Warner Building, along with the famous Village, Little Italy and Battery Park – with panoramic views of the Statue of Liberty. In the evening, we include a transfer to Times Square – the heart of the city, with Broadway’s musicals and spectacular lights. If your hotel is in the Times Square area, this transfer is not provided.
Day 3 - New York - Boston
We depart for Boston, Massachusetts, arriving at midday. On arrival we take a panoramic tour of a city central to the United States’ independence, visiting Beacon Hill, Harvard University, the gardens of Boston Common and Trinity Church. We finish at Quincy Market – a lively dockside area with shops and restaurants – where you’ll have free time before we head to the hotel for the night.
Day 4 - Boston - Woodstock - Montreal
After breakfast, we travel north through New Hampshire and Vermont – two Eastern US states famed for their striking scenery – and pause in Woodstock, Vermont, a charming town with restored Georgian houses. We then cross the Canadian border and arrive in Montreal, where we settle into our accommodation.
Day 5 - Montreal - Quebec
After breakfast, we take a morning panoramic tour of Montréal – including Parc Mont Royal, St Joseph’s Oratory and the cathedral. After lunch, we depart for Québec City. On arrival, we check in to the hotel.
Day 6 - Quebec
After breakfast, we take a panoramic tour of Quebec City, taking in key sights including the Château Frontenac, Place Royale, Sainte Anne de Beaupré and the Citadelle. The afternoon is free – you might like to visit Montmorency Falls.
Day 7 - Quebec - Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts - Mont-Tremblant - Ottawa
After breakfast, we leave Quebec for a day of classic Canadian scenery. We travel through the Laurentian Hills, pausing in the charming town of Sainte‑Agathe‑des‑Monts, then continue to Mont‑Tremblant – renowned for its world‑famous ski resort. From here, we continue to Ottawa, the capital of Canada, arriving for our overnight stay.
Day 8 - Ottawa - Thousand Islands - Toronto
After breakfast, we set off on a guided tour of Ottawa, visiting the Rideau Canal and the Parliament Buildings – and in July and August, watching the Changing of the Guard. We then continue to Gananoque for a sightseeing cruise on the St Lawrence River through the Thousand Islands, taking in striking river scenery. After disembarking, we travel south to Toronto, arriving at our hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 9 - Toronto
After breakfast, we take a guided city tour of Toronto, visiting Chinatown, City Hall, the Financial District, the Eaton Centre, Casa Loma and other key sights. In the afternoon, you can choose to visit the CN Tower, shop at the Eaton Centre or explore the Underground City – 25 km of shopping arcades beneath the Financial District. In the evening, you can head to Queens Quay, a lively leisure area full of restaurants. Accommodation.
Day 10 - Toronto - Niagara-on-the-Lake - Niagara Falls - Los Angeles
At the time advised by your guide, we transfer to the airport for your included domestic flight. On arrival, we provide a transfer to your hotel and you have free time. Your guide will contact you by late afternoon with details for the next stage – alternatively, you can consult the information panels at hotel reception. Please note that on domestic flights the usual allowance is one suitcase of up to 23 kg in the hold – any excess luggage fees must be paid directly to the airline.
Day 11 - Los Angeles
After breakfast we take a panoramic tour of this vast city, passing the Music Center, Civic Center and Financial District via L.A. Live and the Staples Center. We then follow Wilshire Boulevard west, heading past the Korean Quarter and La Brea to reach Beverly Hills. Continuing along Sunset Boulevard, we arrive in Hollywood to see the Walk of Fame with its thousands of stars, the Dolby Theatre, the Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood sign. You have free time here to explore on foot and find lunch.In the late afternoon we include a transfer to Long Beach – where palm trees meet glass buildings – with time in Shoreline Village to walk and dine in its lively restaurants opposite the Queen Mary.
Day 12 - Los Angeles - Santa Monica - Solvang - Bakersfield
We depart Los Angeles and stop at Santa Monica Pier – a classic oceanfront landmark often seen in Hollywood films. We then continue to Solvang, a charming Danish inspired village, before travelling on to Bakersfield.
Day 13 - Bakersfield - Sequoia National Park - Fresno
After breakfast we leave Bakersfield and head into Sequoia National Park – one of the most impressive forests in the United States and home to Giant Sequoias. We visit the park to see the General Sherman Tree – the largest tree in the world – and take time to stroll amongst these giants and capture photos. We then continue to Fresno.
Day 14 - Fresno - Yosemite - San Francisco
After breakfast in Fresno, we travel to Yosemite National Park – known for its waterfalls and striking mountain landscapes. We visit key viewpoints and landmarks, including El Capitan, Half Dome and the park’s notable waterfalls. You have free time for lunch before we continue to San Francisco, arriving in the late afternoon.
Day 15 - San Francisco
After breakfast, we set out on a guided tour of San Francisco, taking in Union Square with its trams, Chinatown, the Financial District, the theatre district, Civic Center and Alamo Square to see the famous painted Victorian houses set against the modern skyline. We continue through the Castro and up to Twin Peaks for panoramic views over the city and bay. We then drive through the historic Haight Ashbury neighbourhood before pausing in Golden Gate Park and finishing the tour at the Golden Gate Bridge. The afternoon is free – you can join an optional visit to Sausalito for views of San Francisco and the bay. In the evening, we include a transfer to North Beach – known as Little Italy – the city’s lively nightlife hub with plenty of restaurants.
Day 16 - San Francisco
After breakfast, our services conclude in San Francisco.
