Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Wales!

Manchester - Conwy (Wales) - Anglesey - Beaumaris - Lllanfairpwllgwyngyll - Lllandudno. We set off from Manchester and head straight for the Welsh border, starting our day in the charming town of Conwy. Known for its picture-perfect harbour, Conwy features a seaside castle, the ‘world’s smallest house,’ and delightful eateries serving the best fish and chips. We enjoy an included visit to Conwy Castle.

Next, we cross the Menai Straits via the world’s first modern suspension bridge, heading onto Anglesey Island. We visit the western tip of North Wales to admire the South Stack Lighthouse, dramatic sea cliffs, and a nature reserve. Our journey continues with stops in the lovely seaside town of Beaumaris and the photo-worthy Llanfairpwllgwyngyll. We then return over the bridge to the coast and arrive in Llandudno for our overnight stay.

Please note: Check-in closes at 09:45 (tour departs at 10:00) - Coach Parking Bays, Manchester Piccadilly, Store Street (Boad Street intersection), Manchester, M1 2WD.

Day 2

Exploring Wales

Llandudno - Betws-y-Coed - Portmeirion - Llandudno. This morning, we start our adventure with a visit to Betws-y-Coed, a picturesque village renowned as the gateway to Snowdonia National Park. As we continue our journey, we enjoy the breath-taking views of Snowdonia’s mountains before arriving at Harlech Castle, one of our top UK favourites. With its dramatic sea views and a history marked by intense sieges and dynamite, it’s truly a sight to behold.

Next, we explore Portmeirion, a charming village created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis to showcase how natural beauty can be preserved in development. Here, you’ll have time to wander and enjoy a meal in this Mediterranean-inspired gem. We then return to Llandudno for the evening.

Accommodation: Lawton & Lauriston, The Shelbourne, Milverton House Hotel or similar.
Overnight: Llandudno  |  Breakfast

Day 3

Back to Manchester

Llandundo - Llanberis - Llangollen - Chester (England) - Manchester. After breakfast, we head to the Llanberis Slate Museum, where the story of the world’s second-largest slate mine will leave a lasting impression. For lunch, we stop in Llangollen, a charming town by the River Dee that’s sure to win you over. Next, we visit Chester, one of England’s most historic towns. While there’s much to explore, we recommend spending time at the magnificent Chester Cathedral, where you could easily spend a whole day admiring its grandeur. We return to Manchester by early evening.

*Please note: The National Slate Museum in Llanberis will be closed from 3rd November 2024 until summer 2026 for refurbishments. Driver-guides will work to include an alternate stop or extra time in another location instead. We apologise for the inconvenience.
