Day 1 - London
Welcome to London. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to your hotel where you can settle in and enjoy some free time to relax or explore at your own pace. Later this afternoon, you will find important information about the start of your tour displayed on the notice boards located at the hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - London
We begin the day with a panoramic tour of London led by a local guide, highlighting the city’s rich culture and history. You’ll see iconic landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where there may be an opportunity to watch the Changing of the Guard, depending on the schedule. In the evening, we’ll gather in Piccadilly to take a stroll through the bustling areas of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho—known for their vibrant atmosphere, theatres, and entertainment. You will have a wide choice of restaurants to enjoy dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 3 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
We begin the day with a visit to the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest and most comprehensive institutions, showcasing artefacts from myriad cultures worldwide. After some free time for lunch, we head to Camden, a vibrant district known for its eclectic street market where you can browse unique items and enjoy a meal at one of the many food stalls or small restaurants. At around 4:00 p.m., we travel to Colchester, England’s oldest recorded town, where we take a leisurely walk through its historic streets. Later, we continue to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight crossing to the Netherlands, staying in en suite cabins. Please note, due to limited cabin availability on the ferry, the itinerary may be adjusted. In that case, we might travel from London to Amsterdam via a daytime ferry, with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or alternatively by train or flight.
Day 4 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland around 8:00 a.m. and visit Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its traditional atmosphere and waterfront views. Afterwards, we travel to Amsterdam for a guided city tour featuring a variety of highlights: the iconic windmills and Rembrandt statue, the modern elegance of the South District, and the historic diamond-cutting workshops near Museum Square. We end the tour on foot in the heart of Amsterdam, where you will have free time to explore further at your own leisure.
Day 5 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We depart Amsterdam and travel towards Germany, stopping first in Hamelin. This charming town is known for its connection to the Brothers Grimm’s Pied Piper legend, with quaint streets and shops that reflect its fairy-tale heritage. Continuing on, we pass through Marienborn, the former border crossing that separated East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. We arrive in Berlin in the evening, where your overnight stay is arranged.
Day 6 - Berlin
We’ll explore Berlin with a local guide, discovering key sights from the coach including Museum Island, the Television Tower, the main shopping streets in the city centre, the old cathedral damaged in World War II, Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and the city’s expansive parks. We’ll pause to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum – significant landmarks reflecting Germany’s 20th-century history. The afternoon is yours to explore freely, followed by a transfer in the early evening to the bustling Kantstrasse area.
Day 7 - Berlin
After breakfast, your tour concludes, leaving you with plenty of time to reflect on the experiences and memories you have gathered throughout the journey.
