Day 1 - Porec
Welcome to Porec, a popular summer resort town on the Istrian Peninsula. Make your own way to our start hotel and check in. The rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax, before we enjoy an included group dinner at the hotel this evening - get to know your fellow travellers!
Tour Style: On this tour you will stay in the same hotel throughout, with included excursions and free time to spend at leisure. On the excursions the maximum group size is 45. A tour leader is on hand at the hotel to provide information and assistance throughout your stay.
Day 2 - Porec sightseeing
Today we embark on a half-day guided walking tour of the historic town of Porec. We'll explore the old town, taking in its churches, medieval walls, round towers, and Gothic and Baroque houses. A highlight of the tour will be the Euphrasius Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the finest examples of early Byzantine architecture in the Mediterranean. The afternoon will be free for you to enjoy lunch at your own leisure and browse the local shops.
Days 3-4 - Porec at leisure
The next two days are at leisure for you to explore Porec further at your own pace. You could take a day trip to the Baredine Cave, home to incredible geological formations and the weird and wonderful cave olm, an aquatic salamander found only in this part of eastern Europe. You cannot come to Porec without spending some time at the beach, and you can also try Istrian specialties at some of Porec's best restaurants and cafes.
Day 5 - Full day boat tour to Rovinj
Porec - Vrsar - Rovinj - Porec. Join us for a full-day guided boat tour to Rovinj, often called the 'Blue Pearl of the Adriatic'. From the scenic harbour of Porec, we’ll set sail towards the charming town of Vrsar for a panoramic cruise. Our journey continues along Lim Bay, where we’ll have the chance to view Romuald’s Cave from the water. The tour concludes with a stop in the picturesque town of Rovinj, known for its tall houses, narrow cobbled streets, and quaint squares. After a brief tour of the historic centre, there will be time to swim in the crystal-clear waters. Lunch is provided. We return to Porec for the night.
Please note: If weather conditions are unfavourable, this excursion may be rescheduled to a different day of our tour.
Day 6 - Full day tour of Pula & Motovun
Porec - Pula - Motovun - Porec. Today’s guided tour will introduce us to the rich history of Pula and Motovun. Pula is renowned for its impressive Roman architecture, with tour highlights including the 1st century BC Triumphal Arch of the Sergi, Hercules’ Gate, the Twin Gates, the Temple of Augustus, and the Amphitheatre.
Following the city tour and some free time, we’ll head to Motovun, a charming hilltop town in Istria, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. A local shuttle bus will take us from the coach park to the town, or, for those opting to walk, sturdy shoes are recommended for the uphill route. After our busy day of sightseeing, it's back to Porec for the night.
Day 7 - Beach day!
Enjoy a final free day in Porec to soak up the Croatian sunshine on the beach, or do any last minute souvenir shopping.
Day 8 - Porec
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before check out. We wish you a safe onwards journey!
