Romantic Icons and Italian Beauty
New
Kicking off in Milan and concluding in Rome, this 7–day Italy adventure blends lakeside glamour, medieval hill towns and timeless cities. You’ll drift through the Italian Lakes – think Lake Orta’s island monastery and chic Stresa on Lake Maggiore – before savouring Verona’s romance and Venice’s icons, from St Mark’s Square to Murano glass. Rolling south, call in at Padua’s basilica, the cliff–top republic of San Marino and characterful Gubbio, then delve into Perugia’s tunnels and Assisi’s sacred streets. In Rome, a guided tour showcases the Colosseum exterior, Imperial Forums and Vatican City, with time to explore Trastevere’s trattorias. Expect varied scenery, relaxed pacing and plenty of culture.

We continue to Lake Maggiore with a pause in Stresa, where you may choose to visit the Borromean Islands – Isola Bella is the highlight with its gardens and palace (closed in winter). After time for lunch, we travel on to Verona.

This morning you can explore Verona at your own pace before we depart for Venice, arriving around 1:00 p.m. We include a boat to St Mark’s Square and a guided walking tour of the City of Canals, with a visit to see Murano glasswork. Afterwards you have free time – perhaps a gondola ride – and we stay in the Mestre district.
Day 4 - Venice - Padua - San Marino - Gubbio - Perugia
We set off for Padua to visit the magnificent Basilica of the Saint, then follow the Adriatic coast to San Marino, the charming independent republic crowning a fortified mountain. After lunch we cross the Apennines towards Gubbio, a beautifully preserved town noted for the Palace of the Consuls and its 12th–century cathedral, before arriving in Perugia.
Day 5 - Perugia - Assisi - Rome
We take a panoramic tour of Perugia with a local guide, ascending on the moving walkways that traverse the rocky outcrop and exploring the atmospheric medieval underground city with stone–paved lanes and lively squares. We then travel to Rome, arriving in the afternoon.
