Itinerary
Day 1 - Tunis - Hammamet
Upon arrival at Tunis–Carthage Airport, our airport team and driver will welcome you and transfer you to Hammamet, a key coastal city known for its pleasant atmosphere. You will have the rest of the day at your leisure to unwind at the hotel or explore the nearby Yasmine Hammamet area. The day concludes with dinner at your hotel, where you will spend the night.
Day 2 - Hammamet - Kairouan - Tozeur
After breakfast, we transfer to Kairouan, one of Tunisia’s holiest cities. Upon arrival, we take a guided walking tour through the old Medina, exploring its narrow streets and vibrant atmosphere. We visit the Great Mosque of Kairouan, founded in 670 AD by the Arab general Uqba Ibn Nafi, renowned for its architectural and spiritual significance. Next, we explore the Aghlabid basins—an impressive example of ancient water engineering that once conserved and distributed scarce drinking water. After lunch, we continue south to Tozeur, where you can relax and enjoy the evening at your hotel. Overnight accommodation is in Tozeur.
Day 3 - Tozeur - Douz
After breakfast at the hotel, spend the morning at your leisure—relax, explore the local area independently, or join an optional excursion. Lunch is included. In the afternoon, we drive through Chott el Djerid, the country’s largest salt lake, where you can admire the vast expanse of white and pink mirages that stretch to the horizon. This striking landscape has also served as a filming location for Star Wars. Continuing on, we arrive in Douz, known as the ‘gateway to the Sahara’, where you have the rest of the day free to unwind or explore. Overnight accommodation is in Douz.
Day 4 - Douz - Matmata - El Djem - Sousse
After breakfast, we travel to the old village of Matmata, known for its troglodyte houses carved into the earth by Tunisian Berbers. These unique dwellings remain inhabited and include a site used in the filming of Star Wars, which is open to visitors. Next, we visit the village of El Djem to explore the Roman amphitheatre, the third largest in the world. Built around 1,800 years ago, this remarkably well-preserved structure once hosted gladiator contests and other spectacles. Following a local lunch in El Djem, we continue to the Mediterranean town of Sousse, where you will spend the night.
Day 5 - Sousse - Tunis
After breakfast, we travel to Sidi Bou Said, a picturesque village famed for its striking white walls and indigo blue doors and windows. Perched over 100 metres above sea level, it offers stunning views across the Mediterranean. Next, we visit the nearby archaeological site of Carthage, set along a beautiful coastline. Although the ancient city was destroyed by the Romans, the UNESCO World Heritage Site reveals excavations of homes, baths and ancient sewage systems. We also explore the Carthage amphitheatre, originally built in the first century AD and later rebuilt by the Romans; today it hosts the annual International Music Festival of Carthage, welcoming around 30,000 visitors. After a delicious lunch, we head to downtown Tunis to visit the Bardo National Museum, housed in a former Beylical palace and renowned for its extensive mosaic collection. We finish the day with a visit and some free time in the ancient Medina of Tunis before checking in to your hotel for the night.
Day 6 - Tunis
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before spending some free time at your leisure, depending on your flight schedule. When the time comes, we will transfer you to the airport, providing assistance to ensure a smooth departure. Breakfast is included.
