Itinerary
Day 1 - San Jose
Welcome to Costa Rica. Upon arrival at the airport, a representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel in San José. After checking in, you will have free time to relax and settle into your room. You may choose to explore the city and its surroundings at your own pace this afternoon. Overnight in San José.
Day 2 - Monteverde
After an early breakfast at the hotel, we will collect you from the lobby at around 7:00 am for a shared transfer to the Monteverde Cloud Forest region. Upon arrival, you will check in before meeting your guide for a hike through the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. Established in 1972, this reserve is renowned worldwide for its exceptional biodiversity and conservation efforts. It protects around 2.5% of the planet’s species, including numerous mammals, birds, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, insects and plants such as mosses, vines and native cloud forest trees. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore Monteverde at your leisure. Overnight in Monteverde.
Day 3 - Monteverde
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, a representative will collect you from the lobby around 10:00 am for a visit to Selvatura Park’s treetop walkways. You will explore the bridges at your own pace, taking in the unique flora and fauna of Monteverde’s cloud forest canopy—an ecosystem found nowhere else in the world. The walkways cover 1.9 miles of trails, with bridges ranging from 170 to 560 feet in length. You will also visit one of the largest butterfly gardens in the Americas, housed within a 300-foot-long, 90-foot-wide, and 50-foot-tall dome designed to maintain ideal conditions for over 30 butterfly species from various Costa Rican climates. At the end of your visit, shared transport will be arranged to return you to your hotel at a pre-agreed time. Overnight in Monteverde.
Day 4 - Monteverde
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel around 9:30 am for the 3-in-1 Coffee Tour – a fascinating journey through Costa Rica’s rich agricultural heritage. The tour begins with the history of coffee worldwide and its vital role in Costa Rica’s development. Next, you will experience the chocolate segment, where you’ll learn about traditional cocoa cultivation and processing, with the chance to taste and participate in making chocolate. The final part focuses on sugar cane, exploring its cultivation, harvesting methods, and processing, including a hands-on opportunity to craft fresh sugar cane juice. The tour lasts approximately two and a half hours. The remainder of the day is yours to relax or explore Monteverde at your leisure. Overnight in Monteverde.

The boat will anchor in a peaceful bay where you can snorkel in the clear Pacific waters or explore a deserted white sand beach while the crew prepares a barbecue meal included in the trip. As the sun sets, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere aboard the spacious catamaran. The excursion lasts approximately four hours. Overnight in Tamarindo.
