Set out on an exhilarating 6 km ascent to Dead Woman's Pass at 4,215m, which takes about 5 hours. This isn't a race, so take your time to savor the experience. At the summit, you'll be treated to stunning views of snow-capped peaks and cascading waterfalls. **Descend to Pacaymayo Camp:** Make your way down 3 km on ancient stone steps to reach Pacaymayo Camp at 3,600m, a journey of about 2 hours. **Relax and Reflect:** Enjoy a well-deserved lunch and take a refreshing nap. Spend the afternoon soaking in the peaceful beauty of the Andes. Head to the Wiñaywayna checkpoint and wait for the 5:30 AM opening. Sun Gate and Machu Picchu: Begin a one-hour hike to the famous Sun Gate, hoping for clear skies. Here, you can witness the first rays of sunrise illuminating the breathtaking ruins of Machu Picchu. Then, make your way down for 40 minutes to reach the Machu Picchu archaeological complex. Explore and Discover: Immerse yourself in the magic of Machu Picchu with a guided tour that reveals its rich history over the course of two captivating hours. Afterwards, explore freely, capturing photos and soaking in the awe-inspiring atmosphere. For those seeking more adventure, consider an optional trek to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (advance booking required). Return Journey: Head back to Aguas Calientes to catch a train to Ollantaytambo. From there, take a bus to Cuzco, with an expected arrival time of 8:00 PM. You'll be dropped off at Plaza San Francisco, where you can proceed to your chosen accommodation. Trekking Details: The journey covers a distance of 7 kilometers (approximately 2 hours) on an easy, flat, and narrow path. The trail extends from Wiñayhuayna High Jungle Camp (2,650m) to the Sun Gate (2,720m), then descends to the magnificent Machu Picchu (2,400m).
