You’ll begin by exploring the vibrant capital before heading to La Fortuna to marvel at the impressive Arenal Volcano. After soaking up the natural beauty, you’ll travel to Tamarindo on the Pacific coast, where there’s plenty of time to unwind on the beach or explore at your own pace. The journey wraps up back in San José, giving you a final chance to enjoy the city’s charm before heading home. It’s a laid-back trip with diverse scenery and plenty of free time.

Itinerary
Day 1 - San Jose
Welcome to Costa Rica. Upon arrival at the airport, a local representative will meet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel in San José. After checking in, you will have leisure time to relax and settle into your room. You are free to explore the city and its surroundings at your own pace this afternoon. Overnight in San José.
Day 2 - San Carlos
After breakfast, check out of your hotel in San José. At around 7:00 am, a local representative will meet you in the hotel lobby for a shared transfer to La Fortuna de San Carlos, the gateway to the impressive Arenal Volcano. You will arrive around midday, when you can check in to your hotel and enjoy some free time to relax or explore the area independently. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 3 - Arenal - Tamarindo
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and at around 8:00 am a local representative will collect you from the lobby for a shared transfer to Tamarindo beach on the North Pacific Coast of Guanacaste Province. You will arrive at the hotel in Tamarindo around 1:00 pm, where you can check in and enjoy some free time to relax at the resort or explore the beach independently. Overnight stay in Tamarindo.
Day 4 - Tamarindo
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full day at your leisure to relax or explore Tamarindo independently. Take the opportunity to discover the local beaches, shops and eateries at your own pace. Overnight in Tamarindo.
Day 5 - Tamarindo
Breakfast is included at the hotel. You have the morning and afternoon at your leisure to relax or continue exploring the Tamarindo area independently. Overnight accommodation is in Tamarindo.
Day 6 - Tamarindo - San Jose
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and meet a local representative in the lobby at around 8:00 am for a shared transfer back to San José. You will arrive in the city at approximately 1:00 pm, where you can check in to your hotel and spend the afternoon at your leisure—either relaxing or exploring San José independently. Overnight stay in San José.
Day 7 - San Jose
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. At the arranged time, we will collect you from the lobby for a shared transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport, where you will board your flight home.
