Day 1 - Copenhagen
Welcome to Copenhagen. We arrange your transfer to the hotel, and you have time to settle in. In the afternoon you receive practical information – either in person or via the notice board at reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Copenhagen
This morning we join a panoramic tour of Denmark’s capital, renowned for quality of life, sustainability and rich culture. By coach and on foot we take in the Little Mermaid, Nyhavn’s colourful historic houses, the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the Town Hall Square and the Tivoli area. The afternoon is free – you can keep exploring at your own pace.
Day 3 - Copenhagen - Jönköping - Vadstena - Stockholm
We depart for Elsinore, long linked with Hamlet, where Kronborg Castle stands watch. We then take a short ferry – about 20 minutes – to Sweden and cross landscapes of broad lakes and forests to Jönköping, a modern lakeside city where you have time to wander and find lunch. We continue to Vadstena, a picturesque town of old houses and an imposing castle, before arriving in Stockholm in the evening – a beautiful capital spread across the Baltic archipelago.
Day 4 - Stockholm
Today we embark on a panoramic tour of Stockholm, built on 14 interlinked islands. We explore Gamla Stan – the Old Town, the ‘city between bridges’ – with its monumental highlights including the Nobel Prize Museum by Stortorget, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. When conditions allow, we pause at the Fjällgatan viewpoint for sweeping vistas. Afterwards you have leisure time – you can explore museums and parks, and you may choose to visit the City Hall and the Vasa Museum.
Day 5 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
Enjoy a free day in Stockholm. In the evening we board a modern ferry for an overnight sailing to Finland – accommodation in double en suite cabins.
Day 6 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
On arrival in Finland, you can head to the open deck at sunrise to savour the scenery as we pass the Åland Islands, a tapestry of forested isles. After disembarkation you have time to explore Turku, a city with strong Swedish influences. We continue to nearby Naantali, a picturesque seaside town of wooden houses, then travel on to Helsinki. After lunch we take a regular public ferry to the Suomenlinna Islands – a formidable sea fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site. You have time to wander between the islets and enjoy the ramparts and Baltic views before we return by boat to Helsinki and transfer to the hotel.
Day 7 - Helsinki - Helsinki - Tallinn Ferry - Tallinn
Enjoy a free morning in Finland’s capital – you can uncover some of the city’s most charming corners. In the afternoon we board a ferry to Estonia, a journey of about 2 hours 30 minutes – you can take in the fine views of Helsinki and the surrounding islands as we depart. We arrive in Tallinn.
Day 8 - Tallinn
Today we explore Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, a beautifully preserved city with a medieval core. We take a panoramic tour of its walls, churches, squares and atmospheric streets. The afternoon is free – you can continue exploring or simply relax.
Day 9 - Tallinn
After breakfast our journey concludes – we hope you leave with lasting memories.
