Returning to Paris, we visit Montmartre, the bohemian quarter of artists and cabarets, then continue with a panoramic city tour with a local guide to admire grand avenues and iconic monuments. We then return to the hotel.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
We begin in central Paris at the Eiffel Tower, with tickets included to the second floor, followed by a relaxing cruise on the Seine. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. Around 4.00 pm we leave Paris for Normandy and arrive in Rouen, where you have free time to wander the historic centre with its Roman roots, medieval streets and splendid Gothic cathedral. Note: if waiting times at the Eiffel Tower are excessive, we may adjust the visit to a different time or to Sunday.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
This morning we have time to stroll through Rouen’s centre before travelling north through France. We cross the English Channel by ferry and reach Canterbury, England’s ecclesiastical capital with a charming historic centre. We continue to London, where you have free time around Tower Bridge – one of the city’s most recognisable symbols – before we head to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
Discover London on a panoramic tour with a local guide, taking in the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames and Buckingham Palace, where you might witness the Changing of the Guard depending on the date. In the evening we meet in Piccadilly for a stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown and Soho, lively areas famed for theatre and entertainment. You will find plenty of dinner options before we return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
We leave London for northern England, stopping first in Cambridge to admire its beautiful colleges. After lunch we continue to York, whose glorious cathedral, Roman walls and bustling shopping streets make a memorable impression – you have free time to explore. We then press on to Durham, a vibrant medieval city crowned by a magnificent cathedral facing the castle.
Day 7 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
We travel into Scotland, pausing in Alnwick, a picturesque town with exquisite gardens and a grand medieval castle known from the Harry Potter films. We continue to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. Scotland’s capital – one of Northern Europe’s most engaging cities – has a monumental centre that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the castle commanding steep streets and green parks. We enjoy a panoramic tour with a local guide.
Day 8 - Edinburgh - Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort Augustus - Glasgow
Today brings a wonderful journey through the Scottish Highlands. We pause for coffee and a stroll in Pitlochry, then pass through Inverness near the mysterious Loch Ness. We visit Urquhart Castle – admission included – and embark on a boat trip on the dark waters of Loch Ness. We continue via Fort Augustus with its sluice system and Fort William, a resort at the foot of Ben Nevis, the United Kingdom’s highest summit. Heading south, we traverse high plateaus where snow is often visible and skirt the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond, reaching Glasgow at day’s end. Important note: for groups arriving in Edinburgh from 15 November until the end of February, the itinerary adjusts due to shorter days and frequent snow – 08.00 am depart Edinburgh for Pitlochry (09.45 am–11.15 am), a picturesque town in the heart of the whisky–producing region, with a visit to a traditional distillery – admission included. Continue to Stirling (12.30 pm–3.30 pm) to explore its impressive historic centre dominated by the grand Stirling Castle – tickets included. After time for lunch, stop to photograph The Kelpies, monumental sculptures of two horse heads inspired by Scottish mythology. Continue to Glasgow, arriving at around 5.00 pm with time to stroll the city centre.
Day 9 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
We leave Glasgow for southern Scotland to board the ferry at Cairnryan. Crossing to Northern Ireland, we arrive in Belfast, the capital, a monumental city emerging from its historic religious conflicts. We then continue into Ireland, reaching Dublin by day’s end.
Day 10 - Dublin
We begin with a panoramic tour of Dublin, Ireland’s easygoing capital. We stroll along the River Liffey and through parks, its historic university and lively central streets, and view the exterior of Trinity College. The afternoon is free for you to continue exploring at your own pace. Note: depending on our arrival time in Dublin and daylight hours, the tour may run the previous afternoon.
Day 11 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
