Day 1 - Paris - Rouen
Welcome to the start of your adventure! We begin our day in the heart of Paris, visiting the awe-inspiring Eiffel Tower. You’ll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this iconic iron structure, with tickets included for your convenience. After soaking in the stunning views, we’ll enjoy a tranquil cruise along the Seine River, allowing you to take in the city's sights from the water. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your leisure – perhaps visit a charming café, wander through art galleries, or shop in the bustling streets.
At 4:00 p.m., we’ll depart from Paris and make our way to the enchanting region of Normandy, reaching the historic city of Rouen. Upon arrival, you’ll have some free time to explore Rouen's significant centre, famed for its splendid medieval architecture and its impressive Gothic cathedral, which reflects the city’s rich history and culture. Please note, if the queues at the Eiffel Tower are exceptionally long, we may reschedule your visit for later in the day or for Sunday to enhance your experience.

Day 2 - Rouen - Canterbury - London
We begin our day with a leisurely walk through the historical heart of Rouen, a city renowned for its medieval architecture and significant role during the Roman era. After soaking in Rouen's charm, we journey north through the scenic landscapes of France and board a ferry to cross the iconic English Channel. Our destination is Canterbury, the ecclesiastical capital of England, famous for its enchanting historic centre. After exploring the sights of Canterbury, we continue our travels to London. Here, you'll have some free time around the iconic Tower Bridge area before we conclude the day at our hotel.
Day 3 - London
On our third day, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant city of London with a panoramic tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. As we explore, you'll experience the rich tapestry of London's culture and history with sights including the iconic Houses of Parliament, the scenic River Thames, and the majestic Buckingham Palace. If we're fortunate with our timing, we might witness the famed Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we'll reconvene at a designated meeting point in Piccadilly for a stroll through some of London's most bustling and exciting areas: Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. These districts are famed for their lively ambience and abundance of theatres and entertainment venues. You'll have plenty of restaurant options to select from for dinner before we make our way back to the hotel for the night.
Day 4 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
Departing from London, we journey through the idyllic English countryside towards Cambridge, known for its world-renowned university and beautiful collegiate architecture. Here, we'll stroll through the historic streets and admire the stunning college buildings before enjoying lunch. In the afternoon, we continue our journey north to the historic city of York.
Upon arrival, you're invited to explore York's magnificent cathedral, ancient Roman walls, and vibrant shopping streets at your own pace. You'll have this free time to discover the city's rich history and culture. Later, we head further north to the medieval town of Durham, where we'll spend the evening. This charming town is famed for its impressive cathedral, which stands proudly alongside the castle. The day's journey offers a delightful blend of history and stunning architecture to savour.
Day 5 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
On Day 5, our journey takes us north into Scotland, with our first stop in the picturesque town of Alnwick. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore its renowned medieval castle, which has gained fame as a filming location for the Harry Potter films, as well as its stunning gardens. After our visit, we continue to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. As Scotland’s vibrant capital, Edinburgh boasts a monumental centre that has earned UNESCO World Heritage status. The imposing Edinburgh Castle, perched on a hill, offers sweeping views of the city’s steep streets and verdant parks. We will enjoy a panoramic tour of this dynamic city with a knowledgeable local guide, delving into its rich history and culture.
Day 6 - Edinburgh - Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort Augustus - Glasgow
Today, we embark on an enchanting journey through the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Our day begins with a leisurely coffee break and a stroll in Pitlochry, a picturesque village renowned for its charm. We then travel onward to Inverness, in northern Scotland, where we'll skirt the mysterious shores of Loch Ness. Here, you will visit the historic Urquhart Castle, with admission included, followed by a boat ride across the brooding waters of the Loch. We continue our adventure past Fort Augustus, observing its intriguing sluice system, and onward to Fort William, nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, the United Kingdom's tallest peak.
As we head south, expect stunning views of the high plateaus, often dusted with snow, and the intricate, scenic shoreline of Loch Lomond. We'll conclude our day in Glasgow, arriving towards evening.
Please note: For groups travelling from Edinburgh between the 15th of November and the end of February, the itinerary adjusts to account for shorter daylight hours and snow-prone roads. The day begins at 08:00 a.m. with a departure from Edinburgh to Pitlochry, where you'll enjoy the visit to a traditional whisky distillery (admission included). We'll then proceed to Stirling and explore its impressive historic centre, dominated by the grand Stirling Castle (tickets included). Throughout the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to capture the majesty of The Kelpies with a photographic stop. The day concludes in Glasgow, arriving around 05:00 p.m., providing time for a stroll through the city centre.
Day 7 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
Today, we depart from Glasgow, travelling through the scenic landscapes of southern Scotland to the ferry port at Cairnryan. Here, we board a ferry that will carry us across the sea to Northern Ireland, making our way to Belfast. As we arrive in Belfast, the capital, we take a moment to appreciate its transformation from a city historically marked by religious conflicts to one of renewal and cultural significance. Continuing our journey, we venture into the Republic of Ireland, with our final destination being the vibrant city of Dublin, where we are expected to arrive by the end of the day.
Day 8 - Dublin
Our day in Dublin commences with an insightful panoramic tour of Ireland's serene capital. We'll wander along the River Liffey's scenic banks, stopping at lush parks, the city's historic university, and lively downtown streets. As part of our exploration, we'll pause to admire the exterior of Trinity College, renowned for its illustrious history and scholarly influence. The afternoon is yours to uncover the charms of Dublin at your own pace. Feel free to delve into the city's rich tapestry of culture, history, and vibrant local life. Please note, occasionally, based on our arrival time and available daylight, this tour may occur on the previous afternoon.
Day 9 - Dublin - Caernarfon - Liverpool
Today, we embark on an early morning ferry journey leaving Ireland behind as we head towards Wales. After a relaxing three to three-and-a-half-hour crossing, we arrive at the beautiful Welsh coast, making our first stop at Caernarfon. This seaside town is notable for its World Heritage-listed castle, a stunning example of medieval military architecture. You'll have the opportunity to explore the charming streets and enjoy lunch at your leisure. Later, we journey onward to Liverpool, famed for its rich maritime history and vibrant cultural scene. Here, we'll enjoy a brief bus tour, highlighting the city’s significance as a World Heritage Site and its status as the second-largest port city in the United Kingdom. For those with a keen interest in music history, a visit to The Beatles Museum could be an enticing option.
Day 10 - Liverpool - Stratford - Oxford - Portsmouth - Saint-Malo Ferry
Today we embark on a scenic journey through the south of England. Our first destination is Stratford-upon-Avon, the charming birthplace of William Shakespeare. You'll have time to enjoy lunch and take a leisurely stroll around this historic town, immersing yourself in its literary heritage. Our travels then continue to the renowned city of Oxford, famed for its prestigious university that has educated numerous kings, statesmen, philosophers, and scientists. There’s chance to soak up the city’s rich academic and cultural atmosphere. As the day draws to a close, we head to Portsmouth, where we’ll board a modern ferry for our overnight crossing to France. You'll be accommodated on board in en-suite double cabins with bunk beds, so it's advisable to prepare a carry-on bag for the night. Please note that breakfast during the crossing isn't included. Additionally, the itinerary for the overnight ferry may occasionally change due to availability.
Day 11 - Portsmouth - Saint-Malo Ferry - Mont-Saint-Michel - Paris - Chartres - Paris
Upon disembarking in Normandy, we make our way to the enchanting Mont-Saint-Michel. This remarkable site features a magnificent abbey perched amidst the sea, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and historical architecture. Our next stop is Fougères, a captivating town in Brittany known for being positioned at the base of Europe's largest fortress. Here, you will have the opportunity to wander its quaint medieval streets and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Our journey then leads us to Chartres, where we pause to appreciate its splendid Gothic cathedral, renowned for its stunning architectural design. Finally, we continue to Paris, arriving at approximately 8:30 p.m. As our travel adventure concludes, you will depart with cherished memories of this diverse and culturally rich journey. Do ensure you check your flight details, as you may need an additional night's stay in Paris.
