Delightful Danube Cruise (Standard Cabin)

Embarkation in Passau – dinner on board. Transfers from Munich – the recommended arrival airport – or from any other location to the embarkation point are not included; please contact your travel agent if needed. We welcome you aboard the MS FIDELIO in Passau. Check in begins at 4:00 p.m. – if you arrive earlier, you may leave your luggage at reception and explore the city on your own. A welcome cocktail and dinner are served, followed by overnight sailing.

Cruise – full board included. We wake to the scenic Wachau Valley and sail towards Dürnstein, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of vineyards, castles and hilltop monasteries. After breakfast, we continue this 35 km stretch, arriving around midday. In the afternoon you have free time to taste the village’s famed white wines and apricot liqueurs, stroll its main street, or hike up to the ruins where Richard the Lionheart was once imprisoned. Before dinner we resume sailing – overnight on board.

Cruise – full board included. After breakfast we enjoy a panoramic tour of Vienna, taking in the Ringstrasse, the world renowned State Opera, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Natural History Museum, Hofburg Palace, the Austrian Parliament, City Hall, the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), the Votive Church and the National Theatre, among other highlights. After the tour, you have free time before we return to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon you have further free time or you may choose an optional visit to Hofburg Palace, a stroll to the Opera House, or a classical concert. We depart at midnight – overnight sailing.

Cruise – full board included. In the afternoon, after lunch, we enjoy a guided tour of Budapest, taking in Heroes’ Square, the Central Market Hall, the Synagogue, the Opera House and more. Overnight in Budapest.

Cruise – full board included. The morning is free in Budapest – you can relax in one of its famed thermal baths, visit the world’s second largest parliament, explore the Synagogue and the Jewish Quarter in detail, or enjoy a coffee at the New York Café. We resume sailing during lunch – overnight sailing.

Cruise – full board included. We arrive in Bratislava early in the morning and, after breakfast, set out on an included walking tour of Slovakia’s capital, taking in the historic centre’s key sights – the Old Town Hall, Hlavne Namestie Square, the Ganymedova Fountain, the Slovak National Theatre and St Martin’s Cathedral, among others. You then have a free afternoon in the city. Overnight sailing.

Cruise – full board included. Early this morning we arrive in Melk, where you have free time to visit its majestic abbey, which inspired Umberto Eco’s The Name of the Rose – renowned as one of the greatest Baroque masterpieces and for its library of manuscripts and Bibles. We return to the ship for dinner – overnight sailing.

Disembarkation in Passau – breakfast on board. After breakfast we disembark. At 9:00 a.m. you must vacate your cabins – you may leave your luggage on board and remain in the common areas or head out to enjoy the city until your scheduled transfer. Services end in Passau. If you require a transfer from the disembarkation point to your departure location, please request it through your travel agency.
