Day 1 - Berlin
Upon your arrival in Berlin, we'll take care of your transfer to the hotel, offering you some time to relax and explore at your leisure. In the afternoon, please check the information boards at the hotel's reception for details regarding the start of our journey together. Enjoy the opportunity to unwind and soak up the initial impressions of this vibrant city. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
In Berlin, Germany's vibrant capital, you will delve into the city's rich cultural tapestry with a guided panoramic tour. As we explore the historic heart of Berlin, you will encounter the architectural splendour of the Reichstag, the iconic Brandenburg Gate, and the bustling pulse of the city's shopping streets. Our tour will also take us to some of the city’s serene parks, offering a moment of tranquillity amidst the urban landscape. Significant historical sites such as the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum are included in our itinerary, providing profound insights into Germany’s past. Should you wish to venture further, an optional excursion to Potsdam awaits, where you can admire its magnificent palaces.
Day 3 - Berlin - Wolfsburg - Celle - Hannover
On day three, we set off from Berlin to explore Lower Saxony, beginning with the city of Wolfsburg. This city, established in 1938, was originally a planned community for Volkswagen factory workers during the Nazi regime. Wolfsburg continues to be intertwined with the German automobile giant. We will visit the Autostadt, an automotive theme park, offering beautifully landscaped gardens and engaging exhibitions, with time allocated for a leisurely walk and lunch. Our journey then takes us to Celle, a charming town celebrated for its 16th and 17th-century half-timbered houses and impressive Renaissance castle. By mid-afternoon, we arrive in Hannover, the capital of Lower Saxony. This city is a significant economic, cultural, and scientific hub, and its landscape presents a harmonious blend of historical and modern architecture along with inviting, extensive parks. The evening is yours to explore before settling in for the night, with accommodation provided in Hannover.
Day 4 - Hannover - Goslar - Gottingen - Bad sooden-allendorf - Eisenach
Following breakfast, we will set off for the historic Rammelsberg Mines near Goslar. These mines, operational from the Middle Ages and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offer a fascinating insight into the region’s industrial heritage. Admission to the museum is included, where we'll learn about the lives of the miners and the significance of this remarkable site. Our journey continues to Goslar itself, famed for its beautifully preserved medieval old town. Its charming half-timbered houses, cobbled streets, and the impressive Church of St. Peter make it a remarkable destination, also earning it UNESCO World Heritage status. We then proceed to Göttingen, a lively city renowned for its prestigious university and rich scientific history, once home to the famous Brothers Grimm. Here, you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and take a leisurely walk through its delightful historic centre. In the afternoon, we traverse the picturesque landscapes of Thuringia, pausing in the serene spa town of Bad Sooden. Nestled amidst forested hills, this quaint town boasts well-maintained timber-framed houses and an atmosphere of peaceful tranquillity. Our day concludes in Eisenach, a town of significant cultural and architectural heritage. Known for its Baroque and Renaissance architecture, Eisenach also houses the Bach House, birthplace of the illustrious composer, and Luther’s House, an important site in the life of the Protestant Reformer. Dinner is included in our itinerary for the evening.
Day 5 - Eisenach - Gotha - Erfurt - Leipzig
We begin our day visiting the remarkable Wartburg Castle—entry included—a UNESCO World Heritage site where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German. Situated high above Eisenach, the castle offers a captivating view of the surrounding landscapes, alongside its rich tapestry of German history. Upon returning to Eisenach, you'll have free time to enjoy lunch and explore the town at your leisure. If you have a keen interest in music, you might choose to visit the Bach House, where Johann Sebastian Bach was born. Alternatively, the Automobile Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into East Germany's car industry heritage, showcasing an impressive collection of vintage vehicles. Our journey then leads us to Gotha, where we'll admire the grandeur of its Baroque palace from the outside and wander through its charming historic centre. Continuing to Erfurt, the capital of Thuringia, we discover a lively city famed for its majestic cathedral and beautifully preserved medieval old town. One highlight is Erfurt's unique bridge, adorned with houses that have been continuously inhabited for over 500 years. By late afternoon, we reach Leipzig, a city bursting with cultural and historical significance. Known for its association with illustrious composers such as Bach and Wagner, Leipzig also played a crucial industrial role during the GDR era and today thrives as a vibrant metropolis with a population exceeding half a million.
Day 6 - Leipzig - Dresden - Bamberg - Nuremberg
Departing from Leipzig, we will visit the Monument to the Battle of the Nations, a colossal structure standing 91 metres high. Inaugurated in 1913, it commemorates a pivotal confrontation during the Napoleonic Wars. Our journey then takes us to Dresden, the capital of Saxony, celebrated for its exquisite Baroque and Renaissance architecture and splendid riverside promenades along the Elbe River. From there, we head to Bavaria, reaching the charming city of Bamberg. Don't miss the chance to explore its enchanting Little Venice, famous for its picturesque setting. Finally, we arrive in Nuremberg, Bavaria's second-largest city, steeped in rich history. Here you can independently explore sites of historical significance, such as the location where Hitler's Coliseum once stood.
Day 7 - Nuremberg - Kloster Weltenburg - Dachau - Munich
Today's adventure promises to be both enriching and memorable as we explore some of Bavaria's historical and cultural highlights. We begin our day from Kelheim with a delightful boat journey along the Danube Valley, navigating through the dramatic scenery of the Danube Gorge. Our first destination is Kloster Weltenburg, a picturesque Benedictine monastery that dates back to 1040. Its serene atmosphere and stunning architecture make it a unique stop on our journey. Next, we visit Dachau to tour the concentration camp museum, a solemn reminder of the region's history during the Nazi era. After soaking in the poignant history, we move on to Munich for a visit to BMW Welt. This modern exhibition centre showcases the innovation and prestige of the renowned BMW Group. Nearby, the Olympiastadion – an architectural feat from the 1972 Olympic Games – stands proud within its expansive park.In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Munich’s historic centre at your leisure. Stroll through Marienplatz, the city's vibrant core, and visit the lively Viktualienmarkt, a prominent open-air market. For a touch of nature, relax in the sprawling Englischer Garten or experience the traditional atmosphere of Munich's famous beer houses. Please note that during winter or if the Danube's water levels are too low, the cruise will be adjusted, and we'll make a stop in Landshut instead. While Kloster Weltenburg is closed in winter, we'll still have the chance to admire its exterior.

After breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your adventure.
